Ah, that's an assumption. Didn't you say something about making assumptions recently? The Jupiter bit I just did there, that was sarcasm.

There are more to life. Although people can be malicious and take that away by simply pointing a finger at you. Therefore, one cannot have more to life because of that.
 
Ben Curtis aka Dell boy. although the charge was dismissed and his record was cleared when he was arrested for buying marijuana from undercover in NYC, he was done and over with.

Steven Seagal. Ever wonder why most of his movies were straight to dvd and his past movies have been crappy? rumor & allegation by FBI completely ruined his career.... a career that he was not able to recover from after several years.

Megan Meier who committed suicide cuz of myspace hoax?

But then..... some people can rise above against these horrible rumors..... like Bill Clinton.... or Rush Limbaugh.... or David Letterman...

Then what were you referring to? You have been fumbling the ball the past few posts in this thread. I understood everything you said perfectly, I just don't agree with them.

It's just funny and somewhat hypocritical that you tried to scold me for making a so-called assumption only to make an assumption right after.

No one needs pity...it is very destructive. Empathy is the way to go, but there are those that simply cannot grasp that. Pity is only given by those that for some reason, feel superior. Usually a mistaken feeling.

I completely agree but I have to ask because I think it depends on type of rumor. For example - a rumor relating to child molestation/abuse or sexual-related crime is quite devastating and is ultimately a career-killer for many people. It even can lead you to jail. This kind of rumor is usually unrecoverable.... even if you were cleared of wrongdoing.

then.... there's another type of rumor that is relating to "scandalous affair".... Such a trivial quibbling can ruin people's reputation and perhaps their career but it's not really as devastating as above. A lot of people can rise up against it. a lot can't.

So rumor on you - I suppose it's the "not-so-bad" type?
