Large Hadron Collider - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The first proton beams had been circulated in the LHC. :dance2: I hope they find more about what we are made of. :D See the pages about questions it could give some answers to. Is there a Higgs boson and a Higgs field that gives particles their masses? Are there supersymmetrical partners of known particles and is dark matter made of that stuff? Why is there more matter than antimatter? Are there extra dimensions?

The first collisions will happen when they cross the beams later. :cool2:

I'm so stoked! I can't wait for the black holes to swallow the earth and destroy life as we know it! I tried to think of a cooler way to die and couldn't. I used to think that falling out of an airplane into two semi-trucks crashing head-on and exploding would be the coolest way to die, but alas, I was wrong. Black holes are the way to go.

Seriously, this is exciting. It may seem like pointless esoteric physics stuff, but we have no idea what kind of knowledge about the universe this could reveal. Physics always turns out to be way freakier than previous generations could even imagine.

I've been following this updates for a while. Multibillon Dollars.. Whew.. There have been lawsuits against the Large Hadron Collider attempt to prevent the project fearing the consequences of what will occur such as "the end of the world is coming!" nor "the black hole will suck up earth!". LOL. Physicists including Professional Stephen Hawking dismissed speculation that the project is safe. Of course, we are still alive. Muhahaha!! Unlocking the secrets of the Big Bang would be amazing. I wish them good luck. :)

I've been following this a while as well, lol. A black hole supposedly sucks in light, so its power exceeds the speed of light. So, if the world ended, how would we know?

Yeah, like if a tree falls in a forest . . .

If the world ends, I'll send you a pm to let you know.

Ive seen it on NG and its HUGE think of the tubes as being multiple stories tall.

You'll know when you see God and he says "Dude, that was awesome!"

Im beginning to think of this as a scientific way of unlocking one of the oldest mysteries of the universe - how were we formed? (or from the creationists - how did God form us?)

LOL. I sure God said, "Don't do that!" Before a LHC would be switched on. Or maybe (I trying to describe my imagine: when we died and I will see at God's eyes will be shocking O_O as mad with his teeth crushing hardly at them with his hand shaking fist because they that would did it.)
