I'm thinking about picking up a desktop replacement laptop PC this month. I've been looking at several desktop-replacements at the Best Buy, compusa and the circuit city this week and I found some that look good enough for about 900 to 1,300. I'd love to have a featherweight one, but I am aware the desktop replacements are pretty heavier than a normal laptop.
The brands I found with a normal (not mobile version) P4 for the price, are from Gateway, HP, Compaq and Sony. I aint gonna order Dell or Alienware because I'd rather pick one up at the store. However at the best buy, I fell in love with a Gateway P4 desktop-replacement since for 1,000 it comes with the 2.8G P4, 512 megs of RAM, 80G HDD, CD-RW and DVD burner combo, GeForce4 mobile 3d accelelrator, and WiFi internet access, but there are almost similiar ones from HP and Toshiba..... The Toshiba's are much cheaper and I've owned a Gateway desktop PC before (I killed it with a swift kick after it froze up on me) and I'm a bit leery of buying Gateway again.....
should I go for the HP, Toshiba, or get the Gateway and pray it doesnt break on me? (heh)
