This Lady Liberty stamp is wrong! The Postal Service has issued a new Statue of Liberty stamp, accidentally based on the replica at the New York-New York casino in Las Vegas.

This stamp is true. Photo is from Statue of Liberty.

Save them.. They may be worth some money in the future. Mistaken objects tends to hold more value.

I will refuse to buy this stamps. I will get different images of stamps.

You should sell it at million dollars.

a rare 24-cent stamp depicting an upside-down airplane for $825,000

This new stamp is neither a mistake nor a fake. Officials have said that, even if they knew at the point of the selection, that the image was that of the one in Vegas, they still would have picked it because they liked it better than the real thing which is worn, etc. They will mass-produce this stamp so I highly doubt they will go up in value....

Okay and...? since when is it illegal to make "fake" stamps?

Well. This photo on stamp from LV is not good. Real photo on stamp from Statue of Liberty is best. Illegal copy of this image from LV for US stamp??? Must make own artsclip for US stamp.

I doubt that this stamp will accrue any value because so many of them have been printed and circulated, as Tousi posted. It's the rarity of an item that increases the value.

38 year postal worker and ex-window clerk (i.e. seller of stamps) here.
For your information a stamp is "illegal" just like a money bill, if someone other that the government prints. it. Any mistake is still good for the amount printed on the face. See the post with the upside down plane!! Attache it to an envelope and mail the letter. The stamp has a face value and the real value is the same. What someone is willing to pay someone else is a seperate matter. Since the P.O. will be selling 500 million stamps (the first printing) to sell, only a fool would pay more than face value for this stamp.
By the way, I have SHEETS of uncut "I Love You" stamps? anybody willing to part with a pretty penny?
