Kinsey

Did any of you see that movie, Kinsey, yet? The movie takes a look at the life of Alfred Kinsey (played by Neeson) , a pioneer in the area of human sexuality research, whose 1948 publication "Sexual Behavior in the Human Male" was one of the first recorded works that saw science address sexual behavior.

I saw it the other day and it really has forced me to think outside my box, so to speak. I thought it was going to be a sexually lewd/crude movie but it was quite frank and brilliant.

He really has opened America's eyes to sexual behaviors. Kinsey often lamented that America would have been totally different if not found by the Puritans first.

Your thoughts on this film?

I have been wanting to watch this film, but have not gotten around to it yet. Will let you know when I do, hopefully soon!

Meg, dang, I almost choked and drowned in my coffee when you said that one particular line! LOL! Now, don't make me point out the line; I think you can figure it out. LOL!

I have been wanted to see that movie! I even had the chance to watch the movie to recieve EXTRA CREDIT (15 points which was BIG for the class) for my "Human Sexuality" class but I was out of the country so I couldn't rent it and do the extra credit. :tears:

I just got a coupon for a free movie from BlockBuster so I will be sure to rent it out!

(PSST-- I think everybody should watch "Sleeper" by Woody Allen.. it is hilarious even tho it is OLD. I laughed every other minute!)

I saw it when it came out on DVD. I have to say that it was quite different than what I was expecting.

Brilliant, yes. But obviously they left out some details of his life from what I've heard. Kinsey is a man who is frequently targeted by the conservatives/prudes and more because of his methods on researching... which they obviously don't understand the purpose of it to begin with.

Kinsey researched basically EVERYTHING on sexuality including pedophiles which makes him an easy target. That scene in the movie with the pedophile was disturbing, yet interesting and informative.

Saw the movie like two weeks ago (forgot to post about it.)

I enjoyed it. :) Funny and dramatic movie. It was nice to get to know Kinsey better than a person who invented a homosexual/heterosexual scale. Didn't know he was a virgin until well past 20s.

Somebody told me that it is a good movie to watch with a SO. I asked why and their reply was: "It will get you in the mood for sex."

Ew, I am sorry but the movie didn't get me in mood.
