Wasn't sure where to put this one -- it's animal related news. Perhaps it's time to put up a new section for animals only?

I'll post a new thread - a poll - about whether to have an animal forum in the 'Other forum' section.

Spectators at a SeaWorld show in the United States got more than they bargained for when a killer whale show took a dramatic turn for the worse.

The routine at the San Antonio park began as normal, until the animal suddenly appeared to turn on his trainer Steve Aibel.

Frightened spectators watched in horror as the one-tonne killer whale named Ky began repeatedly slamming down on his trainer of 10 years.

Aibel tried to get out of the pool, but was pushed away from fellow trainers and back into the water.

His colleagues then tried to divert the Orca's attention by slapping the water and blowing whistles, but in the end Ky simply ran-out-of-puff.

But despite the terrifying experience, Aibel says he never felt in any personal danger.

"I had full faith in this animal, I've worked with him for ten years and he calmed down and things are great," he said.

Despite his size, Ky is only an adolescent male, and it's thought his teenage tantrum was caused by a rush of hormones, as he nears breeding age.

Both whale and trainer have put the incident behind them, and are already back in the pool.
