Jeep gone

Eh, had one in front of me earlier today. I looked at that smart car, and said to myself... Hopefullly that smart guy won't be too dumb to hit brakes real hard. Otherwise I would kick him out.

Glad you got settlement. If it were my wife, perhaps get another Cherokee. Cherokee has proven to me that it is darn robust SUV I ever had.
Yes, we're looking for another Cherokee. Hubby is driving to Columbia Wednesday to check on a used one there for me. That's about 100 miles from here. It's a '98 Cherokee (mine was a '95).

So you're not willing to give up owning a Cherokee? Are you Cherokee-oholic?

Smart car is VERY extremely rare in Alabama and I only see twice in year, that it.

I hate Smart car, anyway.

Also, there are plenty of Cherokee in Alabama. ;)
I see a few Smart cars around Charleston. I can understand using them on the narrow downtown streets with little parking but I see them being driven on the highways around here--scary.

Personally, I wish I could drive a tank in this area. Every day I hear about or see accidents along my commute route. Driving home is like a bumper car competition. Ugh!

Yeah, that's it.

Also, after he saw my wrecked Cherokee, Hubby said that he doesn't want me in anything smaller.

but smaller vehicle handles accident better and now have side impact airbags.

Smart car on highway... I don't even wanna imagine about windy day :Ohno:

rare here in Iowa, too. I see Pri time to time around here, though. Smart car is fairly common in WA state because of the density in the metro area.

My last time to see Smart car was on Caldwell Mill Road and it is just regular road when on way to college in last Feb so none of them on highway so far.

drive a tank on road? you are funny and I'm sure that you can do it because of retired veteran.

How is that any worse than Xterra? Smartcar is more aerodynamic than Xterra.

yes... aerodynamic from forward... but is it designed to withstand strong wind up to a certain degree from the side? :dunno2:

It is lower to the ground, so I would think so. What vehicle gets blown off the road in high winds the most? Semi-trucks with their high trailers.

The Jeep in Columbia was a big fail. It wasn't as described, so we didn't get it.

Hubby will try again tomorrow in Myrtle Beach (another 100 miles one way). Sigh....

Good luck, hope that one works out better for you.

Someone in my neighborhood owns a Smartcar. Gives me shivers every time I look at it, just thinking about driving that thing on the Beltway. But I admit, here in a congested urban environment, that thing makes some sense as a second car, or even a main car if all they do is drive to the Metro station and back, plus the various run-around-town sort of errands.

I wouldn't want to go on an extended trip in one, but maybe they rent a larger car for vacations.

I wish I lived in a beach community and needed only a golf cart to drive. :giggle:

Or "The Villages" in FL. They have 1-1/2 car garages. The 1/2 garage is for their golf cart.
A bit rich for my blood. :giggle:

Besides, I have to keep working for at least another 10 years.

I think Reba and I have same experience. I can't say anymore of this. Cherokee has been the best vehicle I ever own. I have had it for almost 9 years (2 months will hit 9 years), and the only problem I have with this is axle disconnect. Need welding job. Its done, and this cherokee rarely give us problem. How could we give up most reliable vehicle?

Others, trying to sell Grand cherkee? Forget it, we are not interest in grand Cherokee. Just regular Cherokee.

I am sorry, Grand Cherokee is full of grand problems! I never seen reliable and robust Grand Cherokee.

Now that you mentioned that this Grand Cherokees needs repairs, very typical. That is why we said no thanks.

Reba, I have a 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee Orvis Edition I will sell outright to you for $1,000

It needs approximately $900 in repairs. Tell TCS it needs new valve seals and transmission seals (I have the valve seals and gaskets).

I am trying to be fair - I am selling it for far below the KBB private party value, but it needs repairs. I will understand if you are not interested - I can sell it locally, but ... I am not using it and I have 3 other vehicles. Soo ... anyways its yours if you want it.

.... it needs repairs.
