ivy league club is accused of snobbery

It is common knowledge that ivy league clubs are full of snobby people.

simple - how do you feel if you're in expensive private place and some area is being rented out to non-members who are ruining everything?
What did they ruin?

How are they ruining everything? Are they trashing the place?

ruining the essence of exclusiveness. I wouldn't like it either. Am I snobbery? no not at all.

there's a reason why it's called private membership.

what's the point of private membership? To exclude those who cant afford it?

well - that's not really a nice way of saying it. There are some people are willing to pay extra for exclusiveness.

$10 membership to a private deaf club isnt expensive to hearing people....

Critical thinking post alert.

So, those who can afford a $50,000 club membership wont allow non-members who cant afford it rent out their facilities for special occassions so people of less means can get the experience of luxury sometime in their lifetime? Isnt that snobbery?

I was thinking of in terms of those clubs that only accept certain people even if those rejected can afford the $50,000 a year membership.

now that's the snobby club on a very insidious level.

I needed to rephrase my question..I am not thinking clearly at the moment...my apologies.

no don't worry. that's why I said this kind of subject is one of the most misunderstood thing. It's same old classic hate relationship between "elites" and commoners.

Not really. The issue is crab theory.

The nicest people i've ever met are usually the ones who are well off.

If you are in the know, you can rent these clubhouses and such even if you arent a member.
