Are you for or against IVF treatment?

We know when all babies are born alive and well. We are also told of the major risks of implanting too many embryos. However, I'd be very curious about the exact figures of how many women are pregnant with higher multiples but don't give birth to live babies or have abortions for some or all of fetuses.

I have misgivings about IVF. I think women should be incouraged to adopt rather then have this treatment, but if they do their should be a limit to the number of embryo's implanted. 3 should be the maximam number.

What do others think?

There are already standards of practice in place for limiting the number of embryos implanted. At least, in the States, there are. The vast majority of fertility specialists adhere to practice standards. That is exactly why you don't hear of multiples like the births currently being discussed.

Agreed. I dont know how many do they have to limit the number of embryos. i think 3???

its shouldnt matters if i would have my own baby somedays and i can wait for years and how long i would prior to have my own children in future.

my grandma raise 4 children include my mom and my aunt&uncle and my late grandma raise my dad and my 2 uncle its totally many children.

im sure if i would can have more children after 2 or its dosent matter its god's choice.

I'm in favor of IVF, but with limits on how many embryos are placed inside the women's uterus.

Touchy.

I am all for IVF.. but gee whiz! limit it to two or three!

Seems like people are having litters nowadays. 4-8 babies!

I voted that it should be banned.

Why so?

I have missgivings about this but only when they implant more then 2 or 3 embryo's. It gets more serious when they implant too many and then they all turn into fetuses. I sometimes wonder how often this happens when we don't hear about it because the woman aborts or because the babies are stillborn. People say the odds of survival are low but we only hear about the success stories in this matter.
