Hi!
I wonder if any of you ever had experiences getting negative perspectives/judgements from teachers/other peers in the past? Ok, I am using my personal experience as an example. FYI, please understand this..I am not biased against anyone. I just speak out from my own ironic experience.
One Deaf student is well known at my HS and got involved in several activities. She got a scholarship from HS to attend a college. Everyone thought she would be successful upon her graduation from a college. Teachers and other peers looked down at me..they felt that I did not make it to college or university. Or maybe I end up in the jail and have any criminal records. Well, I was an outsider with a history of troublemaking...reason? I was not happy at that school in the past. I had my own personal problems and struggled with authority. I did get involved in some activities in order trying to get fit into, but it did not work out in my end. That's allright, at least I tried. Of course, I was so rebellious and not a saint. I was close to get expelled at total of three times. I made it and won my own personal battles.
Well, it is not that case. Look at that student, she end up getting a "certificate" in business. She was unable to obtain a BA/BS degree in social work due to English composition which a college mandates every student to take. She flunked it a several times. Then, she is married with two boys. She has no job and on SSI to get by. Her spouse works under the table. It is tough for them financially.
What happen to me now? I got a BS/MS degrees at two universities, so I proved some teachers and other peers wrong. I have no criminal records thus far. *knock on the wood.*
That's so irony for someone who is an outsider ends up doing well whereas a "popular" person gets fucked up.
 at teachers and other peers who wrongily passed the judgement about me...they are so retarded.
So, now, do any of you ever have a similiar experience as I do? Do tell!
