Sallylou: This isn't about Obama bashin'. This is about who is very patriotic. I am one of them and it doesn't mean that I bash Obama. :)

Right on. And, Just because they don't agree/like his plan that does not make them Obama hater or Obama basher... There goes for me, too. Sure, I did praise him for what he tried to do his best.

Why does it sound like it was phrased in a way that you felt guilty about doing that?

just saying that it would be hypocritical of me to ask one to stop bashing Obama when I bashed Bush.

patriotic? but you always think something bad will happen to this country and to him like WW3 and assassination. That's not exactly a patriotic thought.

Do we get to go around deciding who is patriotic and who is not? A kind of patriotism police? That doesn't sound very American.

Yes, the war and health care are both very emotionally charged issues.

I normally respect Reba's opinions because she bases them on fact. In the case of the Fort Hood massacre, though, she is not being rational and even handed. Notice that I didn't blame the army? Now is not the time for blaming and finger pointing.

Ah, got ya. :cool2:

But really... it's not really Obama or Democrat bashing. Even conservative leaders have been accused of not showing enough passion.

To be honest, I am still a bit miffed that our own conservative leader didn't visit the Netherlands a few years ago during their day of celebration of liberation since my grandfather served during D-Day... so by not going to the Netherlands during their national holidays, our leader kinda snubbed all the veterans.

Same here... Obama is just under fire for not showing enough emotion toward the American people.

I am for this country. And, of course I don't like for any President to screw our country just like what Pres. Obama did about everythin' ( healthcare, economic, and many more ). I like our forefathers better than "today" President.

That bunch of old liberals were quite a gang, eh? They weren't above shooting at people. ;)

I did same for Bush. I bashed him pretty bad.

I actually liked Bush until "Shock and Awe" started. Then I saw him as an arrogant prick with a personal agenda, telling the rest of the world to screw off. No reason to feel guilt about bashing Bush. I gave him a couple years before I started to bash him; unlike the anti-Obama crowd that started before his inauguration.

Our fore fathers rocked! They stood up to the crown and crazy King George III (who was by all accounts mentally ill). Isn't it ironic that such a group of rebels created a country that now values uniformity and compliance? They would not approve. Ben Franklin remains my favorite forefather.

I didn't bash Bush. I bashed his policies. I thought that he took a lot of crap for being from Texas, which I hated. Southern presidents take a lot of crap. I hate anti-Southern attitudes.

Who knows what Obama has done behind the scenes in this matter? If he made an appearance, some would say he was just putting on a show to gain some votes for his health care bill. There are many celebrities that do things without public knowledge. I praise the Bush family for making an appearance.

The only thing I had against Bush was the Iraq War... that and he favoured big businesses while claiming that he's helping small business through the trickle-down policy. The whole Bush bashing because he had a Texan drawl was stupid, even though I did laugh at the way he pronounced nuclear and such.

Obama... yeah, he got a lot of flank ever since there were rumours that an Illinois senator would run for president long before he was officially nominated as a candidate.

I realize that things are not the same as they were in the 1700s, or even 1860s, but no oen is really immune to criticism... unless you want to be an Almighty Powerful Kim Jong-Il.

First of all, N.O. was not fit for anyone to visit after Katrina. In fact, if I recall correctly, everyone in that vicinity had been warned to leave prior to the disaster. Why should Bush be exempt from that warning? There is no more threat in Texas for Obama to fear, so what’s his excuse?

And secondly: Fmr. President George W Bush Visits Ft. Hood, Visits Soldiers Wounded in Thursday Shooting Rampage - Political Punch

Only due to Obama’s failed bailouts!

\Only due to Obama’s failed bailouts!

Americans have been owing China long before Obama. I remember Bush being bashed for leading America into debts with China.

The bailouts contributed to it, but you guys were already indebted to them long before the recession. I wouldn't blame neither Bush or Obama for the debts with China. It's irresponsible spending of both parties since the Bush Sr. administration that led to this.

And his mother was voicing her lack of understanding what everyone evacuated to the stadium was upset about. After all, they had a roof over their head.
