On basic cable channels, you'll notice that they have measurements on what they can say and show.

But on Pay-TV channels, that's different because they are private channels.

They should shut up about censorship. If it's for protection for kids, they should simply add a warning or a rating before shows start or resume so that parents can keep an eye out properly for their children. They could even add a little logo on the lower right corner that represents "R", "PG", "PG-13", etc. That way, parents can just walk by and take a peek at what they kids are watching. If it's not appropriate, they parents can simply turn off the television. In reality, the kids are going to see and hear those things... no matter what. Someone gets hit in school and they see it. Some guy at the mall gets pissed off and says "fuck you" to another person and the kids hear it. They walk in on their mom changing clothes, so what? They will all see it... no matter what. We should learn to accept things the way they are and move on.

are you familar with little special TV ratings called "TV-Y" (for kids) "TV-G" (all ages) "TV-PG" (parent advised) "TV-14" (no kids under 14...blah blah blah) and of course, "TV-MA" (no one under the age of 18 shall watch it..blah blah blah) so anyway, what I think best is that shows that shows adult language, strong violence, and nudity should be sheculed to be on air at LATE nights, when kids are in bed, you know? but of course you know TV ratings shown on TV arent' enough child-proof because some parents are such a lazy ass letting kids watch whatever they want to watch...like "The Simpsons" and "South Park" which does show alot of crude language aviable, so I just think shows like that should be shown on late nights anyway...that's proably the best guide to choose............right?

You're right. Parents are too damn lazy to know what their kids are watching. They would rather have the government do their jobs. If this keeps up, we'll have a bunch of lazy-assed parents who do nothing.

I agree that there's a lot of stuff on TV that shouldn't be shown. But also on the other hand.. society is just very different these days and sometimes we should be able to give kids the benefit of the doubt to know what's right and wrong. I think people tend to forget how much the news and media actually shows on TV as well. On CNN we were constantly able to see live images of the war and while I know nobody wants to hear anymore about the Janet Jackson incident.. it was all the news shows that played it over and over and over while people complained that children shouldn't be exposed to stuff like that.
