Yes, a clear violation of human rights - you don't execute someone based on lack of evidence!!!

Should we invade Iran?

Sad. :( It's not the business of the country to step into people's personal affairs. Everyone deserves to live with equal rights.

Should we invade Iran?

No, you shouldn't invade Iran. It's that type of mentality that gets your country into trouble.

No surprise there. Iran's definitely not a model on human rights.

netrox, I hope that you don't mean that if there was evidence that he was gay it was ok to kill him. Maybe I'm not reading your post right? :dunno2:

I'm confused. The title of this thread says "Iran Executed a Gay."

But nothing in the story indicates that the man was a homosexual. It states only that he was executed for "sexual abuse and rape during sexual relations between males (a homosexual act called Lavat)".

I'm not defending the so-called trial or hasty execution of the man. Obviously he got no justice. I just question why the title calls the man "gay."

The group Iranian Queer Railroad says:

In the past few years one of our major activities was about asylum seekers who must escape Iran due to their sexual orientation and we will continue this work under IRQR. Iranian queer refugees are resettling in Canada, and also in United States and in parts of Europe.

Now, I guess we won't find whether he was gay because he's dead. Gay or straight, he didn't deserve to be executed.

Alot of countries from the middle east is so obsessed with religionous views over political laws such as honor killings and all..

even thou they say they believe in God but I guess they just replace "thou shall not kill" over with honor killings just for pleasure and nothing else.

You know what's funny...the bible may have said something abt homosexuality declared as a sin, but Jesus Christ as the son of God NEVER said anything about homosexality as a sin.

He just taught EVERYONE to show some love and respect, that's it.

Matthew 19:12 - You are who you are.

So basically Jesus Christ just said...be as yourself.

Sadly, many Christians will disagree... but I partly agree with you. :) Good post.

that would be left out intentionally...they don't want to create more protest incidents..... after the fake presidential ripoff vote....so they change the wording...still wanting to scare people....but not call it a steroetyping charge.......journalistic downplay...as Iran basically runs medias also.
I think the theocracy is insecure to the hilt. they are know as corrupted by money and run the country. Odd thing for a religious society.
religious dictatorship.....talk about hypocrisy.
