Investigation: Teen Allegedly Asked 12-year-old for Nude Text
Investigation: Teen Allegedly Asked 12-year-old for Nude Text - KATV Channel 7 - The Spirit of Arkansas:

Faulkner County - A 17-year old Faulkner County teen is accused of sexting a 12-year old girl. Sexting is the act of sending sexually explicit messages or photographs, primarily between mobile phones, in this case Facebook accounts are also being checked.

This alleged incident was brought to light on October 29 when the 12-year old girls phone was in her moms possession. Close to midnight it started buzzing so she checked it to find a boy texting, asking her to send nude pictures and sneak out. The next day they filed a report with police.

In order to protect her 12-year old daughter's identity, this mom wants to remain anonymous. Her daughter's phone, now evidence still has the explicit text. Most too graphic to show. They're believed to be from a 17-year old boy who allegedly passed himself off as a 14 year old.

The mom recalls reading and replying to the text on October 29, "He started sending pictures of his body parts. Saying this is what she is missing out on."

Faulkner County Sheriff's deputies took the text messages into evidence and brought the teen in for questioning. The victim's mom says investigators then informed her of what they found, "We were told by the detective they had 200 and up to 300 pictures of little girls and some of them were 9, 10, 11 years old."

Investigators showed the victim's mom some of the pictures of the naked minors. When asked, What was the reasoning for investigators to show you the pictures? She replied, "To see if I could identify any of the other girls." She continues, "Just one of the little girls, I could positively identify who it was."

The 17-year old has not been arrested. The investigation has been handed over to the prosecuting attorney's office for review. Lt. Matt Rice with the Faulkner County Sheriff's Office explains, "He (Prosecuting Attorney) will have to decide whether or not he wants to charge this person so we're kind of waiting on the prosecutor to get back with us."

While Lt. Rice asks for others to come forward, this mom isn't waiting, she wants justice. She says, "Why wait for another little innocent girl to have to go through this."

Before October 29, the 12-year old did send pictures by text, but they were not revealing. This is the only family that's come forward to police.

This case isn't isolated to Faulkner County. It's where the suspect lives, but the victim lives in Pulaski County. She met him through friends.

The 12-year old girls family tried to get a restraining order November 8th, but under the definition to get one - they were denied.

Again, no arrest have been made. Stay with Channel Seven and katv.com for more on this developing story as it becomes available.
