Will he apologize for his gaffe?

Poland's Prime Minister Donald Tusk said Wednesday Obama's words had hurt all Poles and he expected more from Washington than just "regret".

"I am convinced that our American friends can today allow themselves a stronger reaction than a simple expression of regret from the White House spokesman -- a reaction more inclined to eliminate once and for all these kinds of errors," Tusk told reporters in Warsaw.

"Today, this is a problem for the reputation of the United States," the prime minister said.

Poland's anti-communist icon Lech Walesa meanwhile termed Obama's error a "golden occasion" to set the historical record straight.

Between 1939 and 1945, nearly six million Polish citizens perished under Nazi Germany's brutal World War II occupation of their country.

More than half of Poland's victims were of Jewish origin and they, in turn, accounted for half of the six million European Jews who perished during the Holocaust.

Many were killed in death camps set up by Nazi Germany in occupied Poland -- including the most notorious, Auschwitz-Birkenau.

Don't call it a "Polish death camp"...it was a Nazi death camp.
 
Makes you wonder if he even reads what his speech writers write before he reads it to the public.
 
I wonder how long it'll be until he apologizes? I wonder what are the odds he'll blame somebody else for his mistake?
 
I read it from Daily Mail UK. Well, he has misspoken that angered Poles. I can understand what Poles feel. Very sensitive topic. Obama just was referring to a death camp in Poland. Remember, Poland was under German occupation at the time.

Understandable but he needs to man up and apologize for his own mistake. The longer he waits the worse the apology will look to be more of a non-apology apology to them. Pretty simple, really.
 
Uh-oh, nobody is perfect. I am sure he will apologize soon because it's his fault that he did not review the speech or if he did, he didn't change it. Everybody makes mistakes. It will go away within 3-5 days.
 
We shall see what happen next few days.

I doubt it was Obama himself writing a speech. Presently, presidents have speech writers do it for them.

That's correct but still he should review it before and if he finds any error, he can correct it himself. Maybe he didn't realize that mistake. Nobody is perfect.
 
he have another cock up by then.He obviously not reading his speech's properly,that a worry, men women dying in the name of usa,uk etc so it behove him to read things properly as buck do stop with him

Not about money. It's about Obama's faux pas because these death camps were Nazi death camps in Poland. The German Nazis invaded Poland and killed nearly 6 million Polish citizens. The key thing on why Obama should apologize for his error is this:

Poland's government keenly watches the global media for descriptions of former Nazi German death camps as "Polish" because it says the term -- even if used simply as a geographical indicator -- can give the impression that Poland bore responsibility for Nazi Germany's World War II genocide.

It was the German Nazis who bore responsibility for the death camps in Poland, not the country Poland itself. When it comes to refusing to own up and be accountable for his own mistakes Obama is the perfect person.
