Took my son shopping tonight, ended up driving in the rich hood, but doesnt seem like they are in the spirit this year. Usually every year, the entire block is lit up on every street, now its a hit n miss???? Sad, it used to be awesome, now its somewhat dead.

Some people tend to wait until the 15th or so to decorate maybe. one side of the cul de sac here is decorated the other half isn't (yet). Ironically the same as Halloween- same side was decorated, other side wasn't.

Turf wars, they gotta be better than the others

maybe. Here, at least at Halloween for trick or treaters- the side our house is on the residents were either away from home or didn't want to participate.

Not even sure my parents are going to put up lights this year or not. Though can't wait to see the house not far from here that goes all out- last year lots of santas adorning the front lawn lol.

I think people just not in the mood.I got go other side of country through some big cities there unlikely to see many lights..I think maybe they keeping it low key..London be on red alert so puts you off a bit.It wrong we should all be celebrating get all stops out.
I seen far less Christmas shoppers, husband went to town not many out today and shops shut now and I feel like having pudding with cream now tooth ache better no where get one:(

That looked like a lot lights to me , I saw some guy trying to put lights on his house and it didn't look like fun to me. People do get older and may not be able to put lights up anymore or can't afford to pay their eclectic bills

Used to, I would have thought airliners would land there... not lit up like it once was.

Someone down the street here has the laser lights on his house - all green. I wondered how they did that. It looks very odd.

I just this on the news again warning people to made sure to aim the laser lights only at their house and not into the sky. It looks odd to me too, I don't like it ! But it's easy to use so I guess more people will be using it.

Im waiting to see how many get fined or go to jail for the lazer lights causing issues with the planes....lol

LOL Judging from the video I watched the $40.00 Star Shower Laser lights are so weak it won't even matter but the Laser Christmas lights one will cause problems.

I still like the old bulbs I grew up with..the big fat ones

A friend and I are planning to drive around Tuesday evening to look at the lights. Hope the weather cooperates. Last night would have been a terrible night to do it as it was foggy here.

I really haven't gotten the Spirit yet either...and my neighborhood?...Not very many Xmas displays....But anyhow, I decorated...maybe I'm just a late bloomer?....:giggle:

We've had our outside lights up for a couple weeks. A good number of our neighbors do, too, but not as many as years ago. The front entrance of our subdivision is also decorated and lit up.

I prefer the decorations that are lit up. I'm not keen about the inflatables. It's actually sad to see them either face planted or deflated.

I had not desire to put one up myself but it took seeing the deflated ones and asking because of that to discover that they need constant power to stay blown up. When I first saw some I thought they were blown up, closed and stayed up.
