Hey everyone. I have an amazing idea about make my own deaf film. It is about drama and mystery. It sound awesome. I'll write a story, make a film, and myself as actor. So I'm thinking about my girlfriend, Meggie2, I think she could be the right role for in my film. Even if she has a time, of course. So I'll try my best to make a deaf film. But first of all, write a story, and let's see what happen next, I know what to do. So tell me what do you think? What are your suggestion? Your thoughts? And etc, it doesn't matter, so tell me. Please, I really need to know.

I think it's a great idea,go for it and good luck:)

it's a great idea.

a deaf studio film has never been done. by that i mean a relatively big-budget film by deafies for deafies, with all deaf characters, deaf actors, director, crew, d.p., producers and writers.

i don't know what your plan is. using yourself and your girlfriend as leads in a drama/mystery is probably not a good idea unless you have a lot of theater experience.

do you have any photos to give us a sense of your visual style?

what's the synopsis of your plot?

what kind of camera do you plan to shoot it with?

HOP TO IT, MAN!

I think better idea is drama/mystery/romantic. I really like romantic lol.

i should have said, "using yourself and your girlfriend as leads in any film is probably not a good idea unless you have a lot of theater experience."

you don't just turn the camera on and turn into Robert DeNiro.

good actors are in short supply.

try and research on how to make a storyline properley, I studied multimedia myself. You will need to write a script.

i wouldn't say he has to "research" storytelling per se. hopefully reading books and watching films has given him enough to build on.

reading about screenwriting and storytelling couldn't hurt, but i hate the formulas they try to make you follow.

my Screenwriter's Bible says stuff like "every story must have 3 acts. the first act must begin with the problem of the story and introduce all the main characters. the second act must begin by the 45 minute mark and move the story along by doing this, this and this. these are the 3 things every character in your script must do:..."

like people have to write paint-by-numbers stories where the only things that change are the settings and character names. yawn.

Research helps him build the idea of scriptwriting ;)

the only research you need to do to build your screenwriting skills is download Final Draft 7. it does everything for you.

you type a few letters, click the mouse a few times and your script is practically already finished.

Yep - it is a good one ;)
