If you are Landlord, would you evict your tenants ?

Living in places like these are hell for everyone. Anyone ever see Pacific Heights? That's a good example of hell that landlords have to go through.

Oh yeah, I saw that movie...No wonder why I refused to be a landlord :Ohno:

if i was a landlord.. like i plan to be.. I find couple of information about tenants rights and landlord rights. and frankly its expensive for landlord to be an owner of house, apt buildings because they pay hefty property tax, license fees, etc etc.. (depend which state you are in but in minnesota is required to have landlord license.)

I would evict the tenants.. no matter what's their satus... people always try to make excuse.. if you lose a job.. they should know what to do.. go find a new job.. go to county and get help they'll help. and people's responsibility what my dad taught me.. always have 3 month of income ahead in ur savings account in case of emerency.

landlords are serious business.. they care about their property.. if a kid isn't behaving.. landlord takes this seriously because having things in their property damaged.. then its a costly expense... having neighboor complaining the noise, etc etc.. means landlord have to take it seriously because if it keeps going.. the neighboor will quit and move out of apt or so.. means landlord lose money.

but landlord are required to give notice of evict.. they cannot do it right away unless its serious issue like drug related.

For the length of period? You can not kick them out right away after getting the court order like three or 5 days notice. Tenents would come to the court or legal service to fill the complaint against you. That would hurt your reputation.

For example, in New Orleans would you kick your tenents out for not paying rent on time? Give me a fraking break...

I do not mind wanting to be a landlord. However, it is not a very easy task.

wow, quite horror story, you had been through, Wendy... oh dear!

Yeah I ran a boarding house in Midway City had like 12 people living in a triplewide mobilehome on bunk beds and each paid me monthly rent 175 per month. It was good fast money plus a lot of noise. I had both deaf and hearing people as tennants and have done kick both deaf and hearing people out for legal reasons.

The money was used to pay off the mobilehome loan real fast and when it was paid for in full, i stopped running it as a boarding house and it took me 3 years to get all the tennants to move out and the home to myself.

Then I sold it and got me a condo and tried making it into a boarding house and the city of Santa Ana gave me 30 days to bring the number of people down to 3 people from 8 people I had living in it. So I kicked out the hearing people out.

I now have 2 roommates paying me $600 each and theyre well behaved. $1500 is the going rate for an apartment the size of my condo.

How's that for being a 'good' slumlord?

Richard
