If you are a member of a racial minority in the United States, please answer this question:

Why did you attend or not attend either the "Restoring Honor" rally led by Glenn Beck, or the "Reclaim the Dream" rally led by Al Sharpton, on Saturday, Aug. 28, in Washington, DC?

:ty:

For me, I didn't feel considered as a "racial minority" of Al Sharpton's band. Should I have?
As for Glenn Beck, don't really keep up with his stuff.

never heard about this but if I did go - I'd go as Independent Party. :cool2:

Being female and with kids in school....I watched some of it on TV and read about it on the news....I would have no desire to attend a rally of this magnitude (650,000 ??)....

as in.... I would go but not for them. only for myself because I support neither of them.
My question was, if you didn't go, what was the reason?

In the other thread you wanted to know why minority people didn't show up at the rally, so I'm asking that now.

I just did. I answered with "never heard of this"

well I don't know if this is the right place to ask since most of us live far away. I'm talking about minority people residing in or near DC since DC has a very large minority population.

Do you mean you never heard of the rallies?

Most of the white people who attended the Beck rally lived "far away" so that had nothing to do with who showed up.

never heard anything about this rally. nobody told me :dunno:

yea "shuttled" them there.

either way - I still wonder where the minority people are since DC comprises of a large minority population. Hope we'll get some answer soon.

i have never heard of it before. in fact that whites will be gone in the near future then minority is useless. i guess.

I guess you didn't see about it in the news on TV or online; OK.

People paid for their own transportation. I know that several chartered buses left from the Charleston area. People bought their own tickets.

Possibly some of them went to the Sharpton rally. :dunno:

nope. I don't watch tv. I haven't watched news in tv for... gosh.... over a decade? and beside - I watch tv probably 3 hrs a week.

never said it was free.

Possibly some of them went to the Sharpton rally. :dunno:
oic. what about others? :dunno:

Might as well forget it, Reba since AD is probably 80 to 90% white. Though a poll would be a good idea to set up to try and figure this one out.

I also said "online."

I watch very little TV but how come you don't even have one? Which State are you in? WVA? VA?

Virgina. I'm not big on tv and the only reason why I'm even considering a TV is so I can VP to others. my Web cam isn't very good. Even when I owned a tv, I didn't watch it more than once a year.
