1. Will doctors get pissed off? And then we get shortage of doctors?

2. Will taxpayers tell smokers to stop smoking, tell fat people to stop eating too much? Tell people to stop eating junk food?

3. Will drug addicts put their hands on free prescription drugs?

Deafilmedia,

Please refrain from saying that people are fat because they eat too much, there are a variety of disorders that can cause people to be overweight without eating too much.

In fact, I know several people who eat very little but are overweight. This is due to either medication causing it, or thyroid problems.

I find it offensive when you constantly state about *fat* people. We as people are not defined by our weight. Yes I am overweight, but just because I am overweight does not mean when someone addressess me, that I want them to say hey fat person. That is rude and disrespectful.

When I address a person of a different color, I simply say him or her. I do not define people by their outward appearance.

I believe you would find better feedback in your postings if you learned not to be so offensive.

Just my 2 cents.

Respectfully,

Bear

I apologize. I don't mean to offend. I am not offended if people called
me Black woman. I see it everyday in the newspaper. Black, White, and all.

But I have freedom of speech... you know that I didn't say it to be mean
or to insult you.

Do I have to call tall people "OVERHEIGHT?"

Overheight

Or call short people "UnderHeight"

What is up with OVERWEIGHT word?

Since when adjective words became offensive words?

Let me see if I can ask Hearing people this question.

I bet I will get 20 response.

1. Will doctors get pissed off? And then we get shortage of doctors?

Nope... The health care is the insurance that people are paying every month and all of them go to the doctor depends on how much people spend on for the health care. Most of people who works have the health insurance paid off from their paycheck.

2. Will taxpayers tell smokers to stop smoking, tell fat people to stop eating too much? Tell people to stop eating junk food?

Hmm... Not only fat people eat too much. I know someone who eat LOTTTT but not fat. As for your question, it depends on the people's interest of their health care. If they don't want to quit smoking, then nobody would force them. If people want to eat too much, then nobody would force them to stop. If people want to eat junk foods then nobody would force them to stop. It's just up to people.

3. Will drug addicts put their hands on free prescription drugs?

Of course not, duhh...

Universal Healthcare, pay by government. I was watching Republican Debate
and Mitt Romney said he wants everyone to get healthcare.
Hillary Clinton only talks about it but won't make it happen.

I thought that people will get pissed if Universal Healthcare is happening
the tax will be way up up up...

Cause some people are unhealthy.

And if all people become healthy, the tax will be low.

Well "fat" and "overweight" have different definition. Overweight mean that a person is quite heavy which not supposed to be. Fat is the label word about those people who are overweight.

Go ahead... You have free world on the internet.

(I apologise if this causes offense. It's not meant to be racist at -all-, just to make a point)

you said you get called "black" all the time.

Calling an overweight person fat is the stigma loaded equal to calling a black person a n*gger.

Being called black isn't always or even usually offensive. Being called overweight usually isn't offensive. Being called a fat or a n*gger is.

Nice response. hooray.

1. I don't think doctors are going to quit their jobs. I mean they put years and bundles into becoming doctors...they're not going to up and quit to go get a job at WalMart. Why would they be mad about it anyway?...I'm not getting the connection.

2. Probably. Hillary's plan includes what she calls "carrots and sticks" to encourage people to choose healthy lifestyles.

3. Plenty of insured drug addicts already do that. Why can't every American have an equal opportunity to get the good stuff?

A little sarcasm here, but really, I'm in favor of universal health care. The US is the only developed nation in the world that doesn't have it. We all pay enough taxes; we should at least all be entitled to affordable/accessible health care. I might be poor, but I deserve treatment for my pain/illness as much as any rich person--we're all human. We all suffer the same.

Another nice response

think there are going to always be some ups and downs with it. I've seen it every day. I am a Navy Corpsman and, for those who don't know, the military uses a system for active duty and dependents that is similar. There are going to be those that abuse the privilege and then there are going to be those that truly need it. When I did my clinical in the VA hospital, I was assigned to do daily treatments. One of them was to rub eurcerin cream on a WWII veteran’s feet that were so dry they would bleed when he walked. He would cry and say thank you everday when I came to see him, because he had no one else. If it wasn't for that system, he would have some serious problems. But on the other hand, I've seen quite a few active duty abuse the health care system for reasons like, trying to get off duty so they wouldn't have to be outside or because they wanted to go home for the day. Dependents are even worse. After waiting over an hour to see the doctor, who was treating someone diagnosed with a serious illness like pneumonia, meningitis, or chest pain, they get upset when they find out they had to wait so long to be treated only to receive robitussin and cough drops. When all they had to do is go to Wal-Mart and get some cough syrup. There are going to be some serious problems. Look at this MRSA epidemic going around. It’s antibiotic resistant. I've seen Mom's arguing with doctors trying to get a script for antibiotics just in case their child had an illness. In the doctor’s defense, you cannot take antibiotics continuously for an extended period. If you do then your system will not produce its own antibodies to fight germs that are everyday in life. So essentially you become dependent and if you stop taking them, a sneeze could possibly kill you. That may be the extreme, but it's the concept of the rule that matters. There are already a shortage of doctors and nurses. There surely going to be a supply and demand problem here if this happens nationwide. The wait to see a doctor is going to rise sharply. And if you think doctors are making mistakes now, just wait and see what's going to happen. I know firsthand what it's going to be like. Is health care a crisis in the U.S.? Yes it is. Who's to blame? The individual. Think about what happens to your insurance premium when you have an accident, it goes up. Everyone knows the cost goes by factors that influence the rates like, age, type of car, and previous infractions. But if you are a good driver you get good rates. The same thing is going on with healthcare, but its people who don't take care of themselves that make it worse for everyone. Of course there are many other issues also that has driven up the price of healthcare in America, but it all comes down to the individual. For instance, look at what it takes to become a doctor, how long it takes, and how much it costs. Think about how much insurance is for the doctors. It's because of people taking advantage of the system. This affects you. Now I understand there are some truly sick people in this world who dearly need treatment, but like the examples i stated above, is what's making the quality of health care so bad. Having universal healtcare doesn't seem so attractive to me. Healthcare has a lot to do with customer service also. Think about customer service you may have recieved somewhere, were the employees happy? Or were they disgruntled? Was it because their pay wasn't all that great? Or was it because something you did? You've seen that movie Waiting, right? Apply that concept of customer service to healthcare. No one wants that to happen.

n*gger doesn't bother me. But it does to people who lived in the 60's and slavery time. n*gger doesn't bother us modern Black people. I hear it
all the time on the radio, Black rappers said, n*gger. Nowadays it is a cool word. If white people said n*gger, we will laugh at them.

I am fat, I am getting there, cause I eat too much. And plus I love FOOD.
