A friend of mine sent it to me and I thought I'd share this with you so YOU can share this with your friends.. Copy, paste and send it!
*****************************************

In honor of all motorcycle riders:

I saw you, hug your purse closer to you in the grocery store line.
But, you didn't see me, put an extra $10.00 in the collection plate last Sunday.

I saw you, pull your child closer when we passed each other on the sidewalk. But,
You didn't see me, playing Santa at the local mall.

I saw you, change your mind about going into the restaurant.
But, you didn't see me, attending a meeting to raise more money for the hurricane relief.

I saw you, roll up your window and shake your head when I drove by.
But, you didn't see me, driving behind you when you flicked your cigarette butt out the car window.

I saw you, frown at me when I smiled at your children. But, you didn't see me, when I took time off from work to run toys to the homeless.

I saw you, stare at my long hair.
But, you didn't see me, and my friends cut ten inches off for Locks of Love.

I saw you, roll your eyes at our leather coats and gloves.
But, you didn't see me, and my brothers donate our old coats and gloves to those that had none.

I saw you, look in fright at my tattoos.
But, you didn't see me, cry as my children where born and have their name written over and in my heart.

I saw you, change lanes while rushing off to go somewhere.
But, you didn't see me, going home to be with my family.

I saw you, complain about how loud and noisy our bikes can be.
But, you didn't see me, when you were changing the CD and drifted into my lane.

I saw you, yelling at your kids in the car.
But, you didn't see me, pat my child's hands, knowing he was safe
Behind me.

I saw you, reading the newspaper or map as you drove down the road.
But, you didn't see me, squeeze my wife's leg when she told me to take the next turn.

I saw you, race down the road in the rain.
But, you didn't see me, get soaked to the skin so my son could have the car to go on his date.

I saw you, run the yellow light just to save a few minutes of time. But, you didn't see me, trying to turn right.

I saw you, cut me off because you needed to be in the lane I was in.
But, you didn't see me, leave the road.

I saw you, waiting impatiently for my friends to pass. But, you didn't see me.
I wasn't there.

I saw you, go home to your family.
But, you didn't see me.
Because, I died that day you cut me off.

I was just a biker,.....
A person with friends and a family. But, you didn't see me.

MAY IS MOTORCYCLE AWARENESS MONTH. PLEASE PASS THIS
ON FOR YOUR FRIENDS WHO RIDE OR WHO MAY HAVE DIED OR BEEN IN A MOTORCYCLE ACCIDENT

That was very good and I love to ride motorcycles. :gpost:

That one will make people think twice and give motorcyclists more room and more respect because we all work very hard during the week , then go on the weekends through country winding roads or in the city just to have fun and some of us ride our motorcycles to work too. We do not need those bad roadside manners or anything like that. We show you respect too and pray you do the same too as we are fathers, mothers, uncles, aunts, grandpas, grandmas and we have families who we love very much.

God Bless and ride safe this Memorial Day weekend as well as riding motorcycles year round.

nice one.. yes its good awareness to let people know how dangerous it is but yet know what to do when riding on the motorcycle and prevent dangers from happening. I am glad they have May set for Motorcycle Awareness month!

I never likes motorbike but knew isn't safe.. oh well ain't my business...

of course looking shown off and cool.. Nice riding.. *vvvvvvaaaaaaarrrrrrooooooooooooomm* ((roar)) Mostly, I've seen them.. Oh well..

My hubby wanna riding motorbike.. I admit I wail'em and begg'n him..... no no no please... doesn't want losing you any pieces! He accept me.. and not take motorbike course... I'm glad... *whew*

I know it was dangerous. My cousin was in the motorcycle accident and had a damage on her leg. She survived and walked. Thanks goodness. That stupid old lady cut them *exh and her* off the road. She look off and never bother to stop. Yea my cousin was pissed and threw the helmet at her.

When I see motorcycle I have given them respect knowing it was dangerous but what pissed me off if they ride their bike too close to my truck. Oh brother!!!

Very nice...

Yes, motorcycles are dangerous. Sadly, we had a motorcyclist die (in our small town) a couple of days ago when somebody pulled out in front of him. The guy never saw the motorcycle.

Still for all that believe it or not, I'm itching to ride a Harley on the back roads! Must be a little bit of a midlife crisis... :D Somewhat fortunately for me, they are not cheap even used. So, I'll stick with looking at 'em.

I did not ride yet almost two years. I know riding motorcycle is dangerous. I almost got into accident few times. Motorcycle must be more careful. I am glad I learned my experiences on street. My son wants motorcycle but can't ride yet. I will not let him on motorcycle. More experience is MUST! Going off road is good start to learn how to ride.

Yes, That is a good start then have him start riding a motorcycle in a very small town so he gets some road time put in then take him to a medium size city and see how he does then the big city. I am sure your husband ? or boyfriend ? can go on a motorcycle then your son rides his own motorcycle or you can get your own motorcycle then he rides his motorcycle and get some road time put in too. Make sure when you are in the woods to take the driver's manual your state issues then use cardboard sign tacked to the trees, like stop , no left turn, yeild etc in the woods then he has to obey the law as if he were on the road to provide realistic training.

You think i am woman. hehehehe I am the MAN! i will have my knuckle noogie on your head! so my son can't ride on my motorcycle cuz he is still 14 years. First he needs to learn to ride off road motorcycle. I learned to ride my first motorcycle on my grandpa's farm when I was 11 years old.

I learned a long time ago some of the most "different" looking people are the coolest.

eh, eh.. not me.. I've always wanted to ride one since I was a little girl. So last year (thanks to my 'mid-life' crisis) I finally decided to get one! Never too late :)

I looked at your profile and it does seem like you are a woman or I would have said it differently for you but man, it is still good advice. That is all that counts.

Yeah I know my profile does not tell which gender. The color of candles matches the color of Arcturus I can see in the sky. I love stargazing the sky in my life. I always watch that star every night when I go to work. The wonderous of Arcturus is so beautiful in brightness upon on me.

Candles provide light during the night time which also provides heat as the candle can lit a campfire ablaze for warmth. When I am up in the mountains I look at the night sky which is always an awesome thing to see. I also thought instead of putting holes in the trees with cardboard signs you could use bumperstickers shaped in the signs of the road traffic symbols as appropriate and then stick them on the trees beside the road.... and your son can go and obey the laws on the road.... I mean off road in the woods and then you can take the stickers down then apply a different set of traffic signs and your son is not allowed to see what signs you are putting up from the bumper sticker chest then he has to respond to the road signs in the woods, make sure the off road trail is smooth as much as possible then have another one that is rough and bumpy to stimulate older roads and pot holes to avoid etc also make sure he knows all it takes is one small to a medium sized rock to throw him off the motorcycle so he gotta watch out for small , medium rocks and another objects in the road. What do you think ? Check out the bumper stickers to protect the environment and not put holes in the trees and at the same time provide him with realistic training.

It is odd that we should put on post or tree with stickers or signs or cardborad to aware there dangerous trails or area where he rides motocycle for his safety reasons? They do not want us to put hole in tree or signs, you know damaging their properties, off roads, mountain, private lands.

He should run very slow on motorcycle to look for dangerous off roads. I was very young to ride motorcycle in mountains. Bumps and rocks are dangerous. I never run too fast.

I meant when the time comes and he is 16 years old, I don't know what your state laws are for how old a guy is allowed to ride motorcycles on real roads. It is good to train him as the time gets closer for him to apply for a motorcycle learner's permit to learn how to respond to state laws and road signs but for now he can enjoy off road motorcross and sharpen his skills as well as learning how to not go fast and recongize that he will handle the motorcycle much better if he does not go too fast and help him to be put in the right mindset for riding a motorcycle safely and responsibly.

He should take motorcycle safety course first at Department of Transportation DOT. And he can learn motorcycle on off road, farm, or area before he is ready for motorcycle test. You will find motorcycle safety manual at DOT. He should read and learn more.

Not only does this raises awareness with all motorcyclists out on the road, but it also points out some of the common misgivings towards some motorcyclists as well. Like they say: "Can't judge a book by its cover...."

Thanks for sharing this article--whether any of us likes to ride or have a fear of riding, anytime we're in our vehicles and riding out on the road, keep a sharp lookout for these cyclists that shares the road with us too. ;)

Be safe--live on. :thumb:

Yes, as long as they are good people to be with and behave themselves well and have good high moral values. :) :thumb:
