...I heard and smelled something that was totally unexpected: Loud smelly farts sounding like bugle horns on parade. And the smell!? Oh goodness, it was nasty. I automatically figured that someone must of had served bean dip prior to the event.

Does this happen often in Deaf gatherings?
 
LOL That can happen often anywhere. Hmmm.... Maybe deaf people like to let it rip to feel the vibrations since they can't hear their own farts? :)
 
Not in my experience and I have gone to so many Deaf gatherings.
 
LOL eww.. I've gone to Deaf gatherings a few times before and I didn't smell anything but if they did farted Thanks God I'm deaf. :giggle:

but haven't smell anything i am glad i am deaf :giggle:
 
I find this thread very offensive. What only deaf people fart at gatherings?:rl:

You have a point there. It is not only the Deaf person or people who fart. It can be from hearing person or people who fart. :lol: I have been to Deaf gatherings in United States like California and New Mexico and also in Minnesota. None of the Deaf gatherings don't have any smelly or fart. I am just lucky. Poor AquaBlue is not lucky in one Deaf gathering. I have not gone to any new Deaf gatherings in Canada, yet. :fingersx:

Yeah we fart also but we are more discreet about it. Understand that the gathering of farts was my one and only meeting with the Deaf and HOH. I am glad that it's not a common thing. :cool:
 
a whole thread about farting? Man Alldeaf certainly explores interesting topics...LOL

Besides the farts I do recall feeling really scared at being surrounded by so many deaf people. I froze and hardly signed- it felt weird. It was an experience that first gathering.
 
Strange thread if you ask me...but I guess there are lots of questions that hearing people are afraid to ask, and AquaBlue just isn't afraid to ask them! (For a long time I used to wonder if deaf people missed elevators a lot if they weren't watching to see when they arrived.)

I have never had this experience at any deaf gathering. I think I have heard somebody fart maybe a couple of times at Gally. Most deaf people are aware that farts make noise and they control themselves, just like hearing people do.
