How effective do you feel our judicial & penal systems are in punishing & rehabilitation criminals?

P.S. I am not sure if it is the right fourm, be my quest it moves to the right forun :0
 
The defendant is still judged by a jury of his/her peers and they may elect (and often do) to reject the opinion of the psychiatric expert. If the psychiatrist testifies that a defendant is sane (whatever that means), the court is then free to convict and sentence him/her.


If you break a law weather you or not insane, They still have the right to convict and sentence that person.:)
