I hit a dog :(:(:(

Last year, I was driving to work at night in my Jeep Liberty. I was going 60mph and had headlights and foglights lit on. All of sudden big fat raccoon popped out of "island" on side of highway in front of my headlight distance, just 15 feet in middle of my jeep's path. I couldn't stop in time and felt Thump-thump (where it hit front and rear of 4x4 axle gearbox). I felt sooo bad and sorry. I stopped and turn around the Island on highway and drove past where I ran over the racoon and turned around the Island again and slowly to near stop and saw dead big fat racoon lying upside down w/ all 4 paws sticking straight up. Aw sheesh I'm so sorry!! and I felt guilty for killing it But I knew It was purely accident. I had drive off to work. Told my co worker about it and they laughed.

I also ran over frogs during raining night. My jeep's foglights lit the front part of the road and can see frog trying to hop across the road while driving 30mph. You can see it's white underbelly reflects during hopping process in rain LOL. There were about over hundreds of them on road. LOL.

:(:(
I was on my way home from horse feed hays, driving in a 30 mph zone (and doing the speed limit) when all of a sudden this dog ( Fox terrier or other small size mutt) came bounding out of nowhere. I tried to swerve but I see him or her run into the side of my Dodge truck pick up and felt thump... I screamed and turned around and drove up and down the street but I couldn't find dog . I hope he's going to be okay. Why in the world, if you love your pets, wouldn't you keep them confined or on a leash???? That's what makes me so angry about this...and sad. I sure hope he's okay. ugggggghhhhhhh :(

"why is this happening to me??" vent :)

Oh no  I don't blame you, I don't know why people don't practice leash laws, so many dogs running at large without a leash it's crazy, doesn't make a good pet owner allowing that.

It's not your fault, it would be the pet owner's fault for not putting a leash on that dog. ;)

When I was in HS, my dog got hit by a pickup truck when he ran away before Christmas. Only dad was home at that time.

I was sad at first until my dad explained that my family was fortunate that a 130 pound purebred lab didn't cause any MAJOR accident and the driver of his pickup truck kept going and didn't sue us for any damages to his truck.

Animals have free will and we're their guardians and its the sole responsiblity of people to make sure that they know where their animals are at all times.
