Dont worry, the LCD TV's will drop by then you have enough money to get one ;)
 
they better friggin drop those prices for LCD's soon. I have a 22" LCD monitor - good for watching DVDs for the time being lol
 
The LCD TV I bought was originally $1100, I made a deal with the staff to drop it to $930! :D
 
Yes, haggling is the way to go! ... we do it all the time! :)
 
Why swipe the sets when you can drop in on them and watch stuff with closed captions, drink their beer, and eat their popcorn?

If they had these in store, i'd sit in their lounge and enjoy a movie or two.

But Chase, by all means, of your plans to come down to australia by canoe, you'd be here by a fortnight's time ;)
 
I picked up a Sharp LCD 20' this past weekend at a pawn shop. It is amazing for playing videogames, and watching DVDs. I popped in Cars, that looked great, and when I put in FLCL, I could not believe how good the colors of FLCL looked on the tv. It makes me want to watch almost all of my anime DVDS again in LCD!
 
How is your hdtv? Did you adjust RGB, etc to make screen crisp and perfect HDTV while you watch?

Different caption fonts between Austrailan and American.

I owed my 56" HDTV. American closed caption text is better than OZ text.

The letters in Australia look like uneven sizes, like changing in the middle of a word between size 12 to 16 and then back. If it always looks like that I would think it is distracting.
