Old aunts used to come up to me at weddings, poking me in the ribs and cackling, telling me, "You're next."

They stopped after I started doing the same thing to them at funerals.

Ah, hahahaha! Holy S*. LOL!!!

I've RARELY had people do that to me, and when they do, I ask them, "Can you help me get married legally? They don't allow that in Texas."

On the other hand, though, this is funny. See, I am "chromosomally challenged" (meaning I have the wrong chromosomes for the gender I present in), and I can be legally married to another woman because marriage in Texas is defined as a chromo-man and a chromo-woman forming the union. Even if I did have surgery and my birth certificate was changed to reflect the gender reaasignment surgery. Two chromo-men or two chromo-women are not allowed.

If you are not seeing someone or they have not met who you are seeing, don't tell them you are dating.

If you are seeing someone, poke them in the ribs and say, "That's up to us to decide".

Ah, actual joke.. Still, my method works as well. :)
