Here in the South mold and mildew are serious problems, so keeping things dry is very important.

Sheets, pillow casings and impervious casings should be washed in 150 degrees Fahrenheit every seven days.

Our water heater is set at 140 degrees, and I do wash the sheets and pillow cases every week.


Vacuum bags should be changed once a month.

My vacuum doesn't use bags; it has a plastic "cup" that I empty each time that I use it.

If you use a flea spray on your mattress be very careful. Flea killer is a pesticide, and it can be toxic if absorbed into your skin. Use only a flea killer that says it is safe for use on mattresses, and carefully follow the directions.
