How The Deaf Community Is Dealing With Cochlear Implants

Speaking, talking, going to no deaf events, NOT signing, going to a hearing school, mostly interacting with hearing only, listening and not lip reading,etc.. all combined is not Deafness.
Deafness has to do with weather one can hear or not. It has nothing to do with what one does.

Rewriting the medical and cultural definition(s) of deafness so you can still categorize yourself as deaf when you are not is very dishonest.
Sometimes it is better to not say anything and let people think you are a fool as opposed to saying something and removing all doubt.

So, if someone can hear something as loud as a jet plane, but nothing with less volume, they are considered hearing?

The definition I gave from the dictionary does include "partial" hearing loss in the definition. That, however, is not what I was arguing. I never once argued partial hearing loss or full hearing loss is not deafness.

Thanks for clarifying. I am asking for your definition, not Webster's. Feel free to share.
