Boy this thread strayed waaaay off topic, didn't it? LOL! :)

I live in the Midwest and your mother sounds *alot* like mine. My mother passed away a few years ago, but she used to say ALL of those things. LOL!

My mother died about 2 years ago too. She died of inflammatory breast cancer.

I grew up in Maine and have only been living in Kentucky for almost 3 years. Coming to the south was like learning a whole new language for me. Like in maine we say shopping cart, here they say buggy, we say soda in maine and here its pop. And of course the good ol' ya'll is something i hear alot here in kentucky. lol

Ephesians,

That's something else we have in common. My mother passed away due to pancreatic cancer. She was diagnosed with it during the summer of 2004, but by then, it had already invaded 90% of her body so there wasn't much else that could be done except for chemotherapy.

When I attended training to receive my first guide dog, 90% of our class came from Texas. The rest of us lived in the Midwest (Illinois, Minnesota, Wisconsin). Without even realizing it, I picked up alot of southern drawl (Hope I'm not offending anyone by saying that. If I am, I apologize). One of the students even "tutored" me on the correct way to "speak Southern." (her words) It was alot of fun! :)

:( sorry that you had to go through that. It was same for my mom. There was not much they could do for her. she fought cancer for about 3 years after diagnosed before she died. She did live longer than the doctor told her.

I'm really sorry she died to breast cancer.

Several members of my family have died of breast cancer. My mother is the only member of my family to survive breast cancer.
 
My parents had to deal with the whole "get your child a CI" crap but stuck with letting me make up my own mind, at first while I was ignorant to it and scared of it I was against it. Now educated and aware, I really want to get one. So much in life that I've been missing out >.<
