I vote for "OK". Not one of the presidential superstars, but not awful, either. Some stuff he's done, I like, other things, I don't. I believe in looking at things issue by issue, and NOT making personal attacks on somebody I don't know.

I voted that Bush sucks! sucks! sucks! sucks! that's all I gotta say on that. ;)

Bush is ( and will be) the great killer of 21st century and I voted Bush sucks

I love to eat hot spicy.

I can't say I like him. Not the worst President ever, but certainly the worst one in my (short) lifetime, and up there on the list of Presidents that one just has to detest intensely.

Herbert Hoover was worse, though. Bush hasn't deployed the military to attack peaceful protestors yet.

In this time, Bush is in trouble with IRAQ situation since the people of IRAQ is kinda of involved in Civil war.

 happens

 EBD and Kalista

I gotta to say that Bush is really thump down since i dislike him for reasons.

Look like UK have done a good job to make some Americans become hater.

dang I guess we republicans are in the minority.

I've observed that generally deaf and hard of hearing people tend to be more progressive on social issues (and hence have a distaste for the President) at least in the box garden called NTID, regardless of whether they're liberal or conservative on economic issues. This is just my experience. I'm sure other RIT/NTID students have had different experiences with regards to that.

I'm guessing, though, that the reason is the same as the reason only 2% of Blacks support the President and why the Black vote is overwhelmingly Democratic most of the time--That is, the Dems are typically in support of the issues related to the community and the GOP isn't. As a result, the community is willing to accept (and in many cases, adopt into their own community) the opinion of the party on other issues.

This is also the reason the Christian Right's opinions on various social issues have been adopted by economic conservatives who would otherwise not care about them--They're in the same party, so there's some diffusion of opinions going on.

Note that this post has little basis in any evidence other than my own personal experiences and speculation and may be completely off the mark and not representative of anything other than the group of people I spend time with. It is not intended to pass assumptions, only to state my experiences and speculate as to the reason.

I've always had a bit of trouble with political parties because if I could, I'd find a third party that was somewhat socially liberal (a better word than progressive because it makes less of a value judgment about those with the opposite opinion), but also economically conservative.

Teresh, how are you defining "community issues"? What exactly falls under that category, because I can think of some GOP initiatives that would, even if you don't agree with them.

I agree with you. I voted that I don't know, but I feel pretty much the same as you. He's done some things right, and he's also made some bone-headed decisions, too. Overall, I have to say I respect the OFFICE of the Presidency regardless of who the sitting President is. I honestly feel that is only right. You can disagree with his policies as President, but that doesn't mean you should disrepect the MAN.
