I live in delaware its hard to find people to interpert at dr visits or other things there is only a few i know of personally 3 are interpeters at my church but they all live any where from 1and a half hour away from me or 45 to 50 min away why is there such a shortage of them?? dee dee

Under the ADA, you inform the Dr's office that you need an interpreter and they must provide one.

I'm surprised that Delaware has a shortage.

Anyway, it's not up to the deaf patient to find a terp. It's up to the doctor and his staff to do that.

God a good laugh from the OP's spelling of interpretor...especially the one saying "interpeters from Church"....and "interpaters" in the headline....:giggle:

There is not a shortage of interpreters in the state of DE, but most of them are working in the northern part. They will drive down if they are given advanced notice.

To the OP: Have your doctor contact deafinterpreting.com for info.

Hey, not many interpeters or interpators can afford a car with turbocharged engine. Does it really matter how interpreters is spelled?
