If ya'll have a shortage of doctors in Conn., come on down here. We can't swing a cat without hitting a doctor. Some places need to make themselves more attractive to recruit people.
Out of curiosity, where exactly is "down here"?
Sorry, souggy, I was directing the question to sallylou since she claimed that they "can't swing a cat without hitting a doctor." (I'm originally from Texas, myself). I also believe that there are plenty of doctors (especially plastic surgeons), yes, but not general practice/primary care physicians available nationwide.
Actually, it is becoming epidemic across the country. Due to the high malpractice rates and low health insurance reimbursements, the numbers of doctors going into general practice is declining rapidly.
As for sallylou's whereabouts...all it says under her avatar is "my own personal Idaho".
Plastic surgery, but they are not incumbered by the low insurance reimbursements either, as plastic surgery generally isn't covered by insurance
Oh boy....Quiche Lorraine-Party Out of Bounds-Rock Lobster-Planet Claire! My location says "my own private Idaho." Hat tip to the B-52's.
OK, so I bolded the part that I question. Why is it that way? When I was laid off, I was offered COBRA coverage, at the rate of nearly $600 a month! For just me! I see the reports of insurance execs receiving 8 figure compensation packages, and they cannot afford to pay for medical procedures? A healthy man needs to pay over $7,000 a year for insurance? And people want to keep it this way? Insurance companies are paying millions a day for lobbying efforts, and you want status quo???Actually, it is becoming epidemic across the country. Due to the high malpractice rates and low health insurance reimbursements, the numbers of doctors going into general practice is declining rapidly.
