I can't find any source that backs your claim but I do find plenty that backs my claims that nobody cares especially a local news appearing in national news.

During breaks at work, alot of people watched the TV news about Newton shooting because they wanted to know what was going on. That's normal for people wanting to know what's happening. It will never stop. That's facts of life. Remember OJ's murder case, 9/11, etc. People want to know so that's why we have mass media.

We already know who did it and will never know why he did it but the media goes on and on and on and on......... They willcontinue to talk about it and glorify him until the next horrific crime happens.
 
Unrelated people want to know because it's kind of a bystander effect. Either you're one of those that slow down to see what happened at the car accident or you are one of those who don't put your nose in it. It's all relative...

I do question the media's hounding in this case though. This boy's only 15 years old, he should be treated like a juvenile not an adult. There's a reason why juvenile names are kept confidential. They probably went around other channels like interviewing neighbors or something.
