I apologize if you guys have a thing about starting new threads to introduce yourselves, but I couldn't find a particular thread that was just for introductions and instead it seems that people create a new thread when they want to introduce themselves, so I figured I'd do the same.
So, as the title states, I'm hearing impaired and I'm from the province of Ontario in Canada. I am a high school student and I'm not new to the idea of forums. I'm a huge fan of the show Corner Gas, which is a huge hit here in Canada and so the only forums I've really participated in are related to the show.
I have a sensorineural moderate-severe hearing loss in both ears and I wear digital hearing aids. I first got my hearing aids when I was really little because I was delayed in speech and the words I did speak were mispronounced. I do not have the "voice" because I was very fortunate to have frequent speech therapy as a young child. I tend to forget that I even have a hearing impairment and I only know a few people with a hearing impairment. It was just yesterday that I was looking for a type of chat site for hearing impaired people/deaf people and I found one and signed up, but I got looking at it and it looked like very few people visited... so I searched harder and I found AllDeaf. This looks like a forum with more people than any other forum I have ever visited and it has a variety of interesting topics. I am looking forward to partaking in the numerous discussion topics that are listed on these forums. As of this moment I am a member of 2 other forums, but neither of them are near as busy as this one so I was looking for another website to occupy my huge amount of free time.
Oh, and I hope you guys don't mind my bolded blue posts. :P It tends to be my signature post font.
