I remember watching the news that Phoenix hit the record high of about 120 degrees or so several years ago. I don't remember the exact temperature, tho.

Don't recall if I was there at the time or not. Seattle's been hot, but never that hot when I lived there.

Ahhh I see, must be the humidity makes you feel hotter, eh?

Yes, have humidity in NZ (most parts of NZ got humidity in summer)... In Sydney, Australia got humidity.

Yea I'm planning to visit USA next year summer... so perhaps i'll prolly be in 100 F degrees.

Hot and cold

Back in July or August 2000 San Antonio got up to 114F. That entire week was 100+. Summers there are seven months long REALLY and heat index can be 95+ for weeks. New Years 2006 was 85F. I won't miss that.

I remmy going to work during my CO days when it was -20F. One year snow stayed on the ground in Boulder from Thanksgiving to New Years. I'd rather drive in a little snow than put up with 105F in the shade.

 Seattle can get in the 90's with dry heat in the summers...but only happens on average of 1 or 2 times a year. It's rare to see that, even tho it happens more often in the suburbs since they're away from the inland sea (Puget Sound) Last time Seattle hit 100 degrees was back on July 21, 1994.

here in Phoenix I remember as a kid it got to 121 one
time but I don't remember the year. Back in the late 80's
I remember it getting up to 117

I am originally from New Delhi, India and I have spent my entire childhood there. The temps would often go upto 48 degrees celcius at times. Worst, it is very dry out there during May and June. Now, that I am in Canada, I am still not adjusted to the winters here!!

This morning i noticed TV weather report
about Phoenix Arizona temperature 114 degrees
today !! and now its 5 pm their temperature
is now down to 108 degrees....

WOW !!!!

highest for me was 114 in a heatwave in Oklahoma many years ago. It was awful!

I was back home in Minnesota by then; I left Seattle the fall of 1989. Yeah, I miss going to Mt. Rainier, but, at the same time, (tapping heels together), there is no place like home.

When my friends and I went to Oasis water park in Palm Springs, CA about 10 years ago, it was 117 degrees!
