High School Cheerleader Dies At Practice
High School Cheerleader Dies At Practice - News Story - WPXI Pittsburgh

YOUNGSTOWN, Oh. -- Instead of celebrating her birthday, an Ohio family is mourning the death of their daughter who suddenly collapsed at cheerleading practice.

Jabraya Howell cheers for East High School in Youngstown. She collapsed at practice yesterday and never regained consciousness.

Her family and friends released balloons on what would have been her 17th birthday.

Jabraya had asthma and bronchitis, but her family said she was given a clean bill of health at a physical last month.

"It was so unexpected, so unexpected, and it wasn't like we had gotten in to any vigorous routine. She wasn't overworked or anything," said Annie Terry, cheerleading advisor.

An autopsy is planned for tomorrow to determine her exact cause of death.

She will be buried on Halloween.

that not easy for cheerleader girls who having asthma or types of health but their parents really worried about that..

If she passed her health physical prior to cheerleading, like most schools require, there probably wasn't any way to prevent such a tragedy. Or to even know if cheerleading affected what may have happened anyway. I feel terrible for her family. Hopefully they can find peace about the whole shocking situation.
