Except that federal law accomplishes nothing..... hence the problem. Now states can do something about it. :)

they can do something about it?

*shrug* sure go ahead but they better not whine to White House to send more federal $$$ and National Guards

Then state law accomplishes nothing, because Federal law supercedes it. Try again.

That's not what the SC said..... It's over. obama lost. AZ can now punish businesses on it's own. Probably with big fines to help cover the Wall expenses. :)

I have no problem with this law.

It isn't case about Arizona SB 1070 and US Supreme Court won't rule until next year or so and I don't have a problem with mandatory E-Verify for all new hiring and punishes the businesses to not obey the law.

What happened to "we need less government interference, not more!":laugh2:

Methinks someone is talking our of both sides of their mouth at the same time.:laugh2:

But, neither is that the law that started out. The law that started out was very similar to the SC law, and that was what Obama portested against. This is a drastically watered down law, knowing full well that they could not get a racist and discriminatory document as first existed past the Federal courts.

Yeah. This is just a watered down stop gap measure. Shame people don't seem to realize that.

Good chance the court will rule the same.....The make up of the court isn't likely to change between now and then. :dunno:

The make-up of the court won't change, but the wording and intent of the documents do. That is why a different decision is entirely possible.

That was written because the other law was struck down on the same legal principles that the SC law will be struck down on.

It's not over yet for that law. *shrug* Nor the South Carolina version

They accomplish the same purpose. To provide for the illegal nature of hiring illegal aliens and to provide for punishment for those that do.

Redundant.
No, they don't.

A data base is just a bunch of, well, data, that sits there. It's meaningless if it's not put to use. If the Feds don't force businesses to use the database then it's worthless.

The states are forcing businesses to make use of the database.

They don't accomplish the same purpose whatsoever.

Doubtful....the end of unions is near.....They are even starting to see the light here in CA

Not really, unions won't go extinct and they are very popular for public workers in northern states and some western states so right wingers are try to kill the collective bargaining and not have to pay union dues. In our state, we are one of highest percent of union members in the south and still growing in small percent, however public workers are banned to have collective bargaining due to state constitution that passed in 50 years ago.

Blame on unions for crisis in California is very small and big blame was from recession, deadlock in state legislative and mismanagement of budget. The unions are very popular in Europe and they are doing fine with manage the budget but taxes are ridiculously high.

Yes, they do. They provide for the illegality of hiring illegal aliens and the punsihment of those who do. That is the purpose the the law, both state and Federal.
