I'm currently enrolled in ASL level 4 class at the local community college working toward an AAS degree in Interpreting. I really enjoy signing. I'm married with 2 sons aged 22 and 17 (almost 18) living in Virginia. I'm an RN but currently not working since I went back to school. I've always been interested in sign language since reading about Helen Keller in elementary school. Two years ago, my friend introduced me to a sign language teacher and I started classes. I'm really enjoying the classes and meeting new people. I've also been learning a lot about the history and culture of the Deaf community. There is so much I never knew! I hope to meet new friends here and learn more about how Deaf see themselves and the world.
