Heroes.

I would have to say that my heroes are my buddies who are still over in Iraq that didn't get out when I did. I also would add my parents because they raised 8 kids and my father supported us financially so my mom could be a stay at home mom. now those are super heroes.

Let's remain on the topic rather than steering the thread off course.

If you two, Meggie and Nightblade wish to continue the small talk - Take it out on the visitor's message and/or private messaging. That is what it is for. :)

Now, Back on the topic - My heroes are my family and friends, especially my paternal grandfather.

Oh darn it...

Apart from the acts of courage and sacrifices that our armed forces have done on our behalf, my heroes are the unsung ones.

The good Samaritans are persons who go out of their way to perform acts of kindness to others, especially strangers. People who run or do volunteer work in all charity organizations. Parents with severely disabled children, struggle to cope with everyday situations of caring and raising them. Volunteers going abroad to help the less fortunate. The list could go on and on.

They are the compassionate ones who do their jobs without complaint and putting others’ welfare instead of their own. These unsung heroes are the ones building their own exceptional sacrifice. :thumb:

i currently admire 3 people.

1) my dad which is probaly a common hero for many but its true in terms of how i view him and the parallels of the life i lived. He married young had no education out of high school and pretty much worked his ass off for 30 years to being where he is today. He put in long hours @ work, a college education after he was 40 years old, many job transfers for the sake of advancement and i just gotta admire that.

2) Mike Matusow. As unlucky as that guy gets, he sure does know how to play some poker. Back in the day the dude had a pretty bad drug habit, partied with strippers, hung out with the wrong crowd, and went broke a few times but has always been able to get it back together and remain one of pokers elite.

3) Danny Greene. Everyone knows the most powerful current "mafia" is Italian. Before the italians were supreme, the irish were in control. Over time the italians slowly took over and pretty much ran every major city. In the 1970's Cleveland was no exception. But Danny Greene was a legend. Pretty much took on the whole cleveland mafia for 6 years by himself and a few other guys. Dude had major balls. Eventually they got him too but not before inflicting maximum damage. Major influence for me. Wanna know more heres a good site.
