Heres more proof that democrats are communist & socialist.

The point is you cannot talk back to the customer. You cannot say Go shove it up your ass if you dont like our policy. If you talk back to the customer youll get fired. You gotta put up the hassles the customer gives you and politely tell him you cant do this or that.

You fail to forgot that Oregon is the state that has no self-service gas pump that has been in effect for long time probably more than 2 or more decades... right Lantana? ( found this: http://www.infoplease.com/askeds/7-17-01askeds.html )

http://www.capitalistchicks.com/html/news-viewarticle-10.html the #14 is one of many reason for this ban in Oregon. employment opportunity. When I went thru Oregon to Wa State or to Calif. I notice that high school seniors works there.. it is better than working in fast food service (it is like slave labor because you are constantly whipped to do this and that in food service than at gas station)

forgot to add this Raven, You are really idiot for saying that Dem is communist and socialist! I am democrat then how can I be either that?

I like self-serve but I respect the majority voters who voted the law banning which may be mostly both Rep and Dem.

As I recalls that there's has been increasing nbrs of accident at self-serve pump or getting degraded from new to old and close down. so read that Oregon law link for reason for having full service.

No, you can put stop to it if you quit your mindless ramblings.

LOL

Yes you are right and the other different example for you too

Attitude is how you do treat them the right of attitude and if they do not cooperate with you that is bad attitude and ignored you for what you follow the boss says do not do this and if you let them do this then your boss ask why you did not listen if not listen warning written that if you still not listen then you be fired! For an example You let your friend to enter theatre movie and cost for free and your boss caught you and tell your friend have to pay for admission. If your friend not listen to you and Your boss will call the police to get your friends out of their place and no trespass for 1 year and you did cooperate with your boss and you not be fired the only your friend is not listen to you and refuse to cooperate with you. But if again you allow them to go enter for free then Boss did warned one time so you will be fired anyway. :-o

If I actually lived in one of those that ban self-service then I won't frakking mind at all! I can step out of car and watch him pump gas and tell him to check oil while watching and have him show me the gauge and etc.. I have done that in Oregon while driving thru. It's no big deal. Of course the price is little higher so big deal cuz it help pump economy than those self-serve.

It is a shame that the people in some states are not competent enough to safely pump their own gas. I have never heard of that being a problem in SC.

I prefer a station with options. Full service is good for moms with little kids, elderly drivers, or drivers with mobility problems. But I don't like being forced to pay extra for a service that I don't want.

Interesting, I didn't know that the customers have their gas pump for them in USA because we don't have like this here in Germany. We do it ourselves and very common to have self-service gas stations around Germany.

I would find cool to being "Queen" when the worker pump the gas in my car for me.

I think German government should have to look at your country to hire more people to pump the gas for the customers due reduce the high unemployment rate.

K9, don’t get dragged into ravensteve’s schizophrenic world. Taylor will tell you all about him (if he hasn’t already) when he snaps out of his coma. Even if the gas prices are "a little higher," it is still the standard price for everywhere in the State, so you really don't realise it. Where I used to live in, in New Jersey, they would complain about the gas prices in Philadelphia being so high (self service stations), as opposed to full service stations in my hometown being 20 to 30 cents cheaper. Last time I went to visit my family in Jersey, the gas price was still approximately 40 cents cheaper than the cheapest gas station here in Utah.

Perhaps one can say that because there are less accidents in gas stations that are full service, they dont have to worry about paying for the consequences of these accidents.

Full service attendants was always the norm for me. And the funniest thing was trying to communicate with them, especially when you are deaf and not able to speak clearly. :P

We have self-serve pumps here. I have never heard of any accidents happening from self-serve pumps. Maybe drivers in SC are better skilled at pumping their own gas. :D

It's not "accidents" that you might think of, such as crashes, fires and explosions, but accidents such as overflowing gas or driving off absently minded with the nozzle still in the tank, that sort of things like that. People in self service tend to overpump their gas. It is a common knowledge that one should NEVER squeeze the nozzle again to fill more in the tank, cos it's polluting and serves no purpose to the car.

Ravensteve, (did I spell that right??), THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT. Remember?

My DH and I both feel that AS LONG AS WE HAVE GAS AVAILABLE, we cannot complain. Period.

It takes a rocket scientist to figure out some of these new gas pumps and when the clerk talks to you over the loud speaker, what do we do?? I feel really stupid pumping my own gas because of the loud speakers.

THEN, when I go into the cublicle to see what the problem is, the clerk cannot speak good English. Us poor deafies!

P.S. James Carville is one of my favorite people! His sense of humour never ceases to amaze me.

We have some non self serve gas pump for people who cant pump gas here. But it costs more than self serve. Wonder if in Oregon and Nj , do they cost same as self serve or more?

No, it does not cost more -- all the gas is the same price because ALL the gas pumps in Oregon follow the same law. There might be a couple of cents difference between BRANDS.

Where I live, there is a river and a 4 + mile bridge to cross to get to Washington State where you can pump your own gas. I prefer Oregon.

Who wants to get all dressed up, bathed and perfumed, etc. and have to pump gas? :nono:
