Hi, After I had chatted with a friend of mine. I found out that I had missed 20 calls. When I looked into it and it really turned me off. :pissed:

The person name was F*** U and then the number. I know it was in the same state as I am cuz the area code was the same as mine. Now this person who happed to be my exb. He tensed to use that foul name for a screenname. GRRRRRRRRRRR at him. Anway. I have never given him my number for vp but he does know my home phone number.

So anyway, Does anyone know if I can change the VP number without having trouble or what??

I would like to change the vp number so that I can relax without having the F*** U calling me up all the time. He is a big time loser and I dont need that. I gotta be strong and be positive about this whole thing. I didnt tell him that I have VP but somehow he found out. GRRRRRRRRR

HELPPPPPPPPPPPP Thanks

I suspect that you have a Sorenson VP-100 and GalaxyAngel has a D-Link DVC-1000 i2eye videophone. They can't call each other using phone numbers.

Oh yea i forgot. Duh me. :D Thanks you.

A little off topic, sorry

Hello Everyone!

Can someone please help me out here. I have a relative that is not deaf but has a Sorenson VP so that they can communicate with their "many" deaf friends. They interpret at church and are very active with the deaf. So I lucked out and found them a used Sorenson so that they can contact them because they are extremly active in the community with the deaf.
I hooked up the sorenson and it was working perfectly. Now they say that they cannot "Accept" any calls when they push the "Accept" button. So this means that the call is coming thru but for some reason they cannot accept the call and it cuts them off. I have checked all the settings to make sure they are not using video privacy, etc. And the router and ip are all correct or the call would not come thru.
So My Question is::::: :aw:
Is there any reason that Sorenson would keep them from accepting a call?
The VP downloads all the missed calls so I can't see them doing something like that and still downloading all the missed calls for them....
One deaf friend says they think it is illegal for a non deaf person to have one and that is the problem....I don't think this is the problem...Can anyone give me a suggestion or make comments so I may try to resolve this.
thank you very much in advance.

Wanted to add that they can make calls out just fine. They also get the incoming call but cannot "Accept", it cuts them off. If I go over there and find out that they are not pointing the remote at the VP correctly then I am gonna laugh but they say they are.... thanks

I would think that they would need to be registered with Sorenson or its directory server to work. I wonder if Sorenson will do it? I suggest a Dlink i2eye and just use IP method to call.

It works fine and they are in the directory.

The question is not about it working really as much as why they cannot click Enter on "Accept" and it then cuts them off. That is the only issue we have.

Are the batteries in the remote working?

If they simply cannot click on the "accept" that would be the only gosh darn reason.

However, if they are clicking accept, but they still get a black screen or the VP freezes, then there's a network problem and you'll need to sort it out.

Thanks,

But the batterys work in the remote....The remote works for everything else fine such as settings, network etc....

The network settings are fine as we can call out and they can call in......

This is a issue that I will deal with later by process of elimination.....

thanks anyhow......

Click http://www.cacvrs.org/blackscreen.pdf and read step by step instruction carefully. Then you would be just fine... Good Luck

Let me put this way, these phone number used with VP does NOT have anything to do with phone company nor real phone system The purpose of using "Phone number" is that it is easier for somebody to remember instead of IP address, and they aren't easy to remember and they *DO* change sometimes. You can create any phone number as you like, the sorenson or Dlink server does not care what number, even area code too you want to use. But there is one condition, and that is what? You can't have same phone number if somebody else already have that number. You can make up area code to confuse anyone. LOL so don't assume this jerk to be in same state as your in!!! He or she might fool you into thinking he or she is in same area...
You can change the number as many times as you like, but the only trouble you would have is that your friends and associate will have trouble gettin in touch with you. Those Sorenson people and Dlink wouldn't care at all!

Close, but it does not have to be 125, but really MUST match VP last three number to DMZ, can be anywhere from 2 to 253. For example you decided to set 192.168.0.178 on your VP then DMZ must be set to 178. The reason for normal 125 is that often when router assigns to all device, and most of the time nobody has 25 PC in the house, so its safe bet to set 125 for VP. Often Dlink router default NAT address starts with 100.
Other thing to make sure is... Public address, if it weren't set correctly it would send out black screen too. Public address is another word for WAN IP address. So in other words, if using LAN ip address on public address setting then it messed up, and confuses the VP itself.
