My knowledge is not enriched with zillions of movie titles. I am having a hard time searching in the film database online because it doesn't allow me to filter certain movies by several keywords that I am looking for.

You see, I am doing a paper for my women's studies about how the movies present women in an ideal notion which then influenced the overall audience, especially women, in America.

My questions, which I am investigating into, are: "what are the traits and iamge of a general ideal woman the films of 1980s and 1990s present to the audience?"
"What were the contemporary factors that were used to contribute to the ideal female characters in the films?"
"What is the difference between a single young woman (supposedly a mistress) and a married woman in their overall personality and portraits?"

I have found information/sources for first two questions, although the last question has given me difficulties. I have chosen "Fatal Attraction" as the primary movie to base my answer. Although I would like to have more movies to support-- any ideas????
It must be an AMERICAN film (sorry, no French affair movie... believe me I know HOW many French movies there are about affairs) about the love affair or have at least an underlying theme of an extramartial affair-- heterosexual.

I am thinking about "Bridges of Mason County" but i feel it is too romantic.. I want the grimy movies like Fatal Attraction. "Unfaithful" is a possibity (it is an unique because it shows a married woman CHEATING... a rarity in the movie industry. So maybe I could look up on this)

I am trying to prove that the movies show the ideal mistresses/single young woman as crazy women who will go to any extreme to keep their men while the married women ALWAYS keep their unfaithful men. Then I will compare that to national survey of adultery in USA (recent surge in married women cheating so the movies doesn't correlate to the reality but contribute to the notion that men CAN do whatever while women cannot or they will be ostracized-- like Hester Pryne but she is not in my time period of 1980 to 1990.)

Thanks for reading this-- hope you are able to help me out!
