Hello! There’s an 11-foot gator on your doorstep

We went swimming once in a lake in our area. People were screaming GATOR!

Sure enough, one was swimming towards the swimming area! I did not realize how fast and well I can swim!(until that day) My hubby said I looked like a darn Motor boat, swimming towards shore! LOL!

I recalled once water-skiing as a young teen in Louisiana near N.O. (back in mid-70s) where there were many waterways (sort like "roadways", u know)... some wide and some narrower, whatever...

in one of wider waterways where there had an oil refiner right by and I spotted an adult gator (real big) diving under the water front of the oil refiner in the moment I was getting ready to go water-skiing but screamed to my parents and friends in the boat to get me out.

But I then discovered that the gator was in fact chained to the pole attached to the refiner that somebody worked there owns it, I was told. All that a brief panic for nothing! lol

I do see gators in the rivers sometime here in Florida while kayaking or playing golf right by, but I'm not afraid but beware of it is all.

It's rather rare that gator(s) crawl into the neighborhood like it did in the news that op posted. But sure enough that this one is rather bigger than the norm ones, though... and right at the front door, wow!

They are usually afraid of people and stay away from people esp in a group unless one person gets too close esp whenever it's too hungry or feel threatened.

wow, it must be scary to live in Florida with gator everywhere... :Ohno:
