Hi everyone just wanted to introduce myself. I am not :deaf: but I have several deaf friends, those of which I met through work. I've been trying to break down the communication barrier between us by learning ASL. I think I've been pretty successful since the area where we live isn't what I would consider Deaf friendly. Through DVD's, books the internet and one ASL class at Scranton State School for the Deaf (a whole other story that breaks my heart) I'm trying to immerse myself.

Your'e welcome. What did you have against to Deaf School at Scranton?

Oh I had nothing against the school it was one of the best experiences of my life. The government was trying to close SSSD. It broke my heart to see that. But it is open again WPSD stepped up and took over.
 
:welcome: to AllDeaf forum. I hope you have fun reading and posting all the threads here. I am glad that you went to the Deaf school but I am sorry that the government want to close down the school. It make me :mad: and :( at the same time. I wish all Deaf schools stay open for the Deaf students. See you around here. :wave:
