I rather keep my voice mail, then i call relay on VP or TTY to call to my cellphone then tell relay to pres * and passcode is 1234... It's easy.. I have good reasons to keep voice mail for jobs... Better than home answer machine on a regular phone which I cannot hear!

Yeah I agree with you !! Thats why I Keep the Voice Mail.

i hate this voicemail and WRONG number so what i did was decline the wrong numbers lol

Sooner, I think, altho you wanted just the data plan, the voice mail is automatically imbedded in ALL SK's. My wife still has the original SK-1 and we just called them and asked them to eliminate the phone part of it and our monthly charges went down by 10 bucks. It's just the way it is and one just simply calls T-Mobile or goes to a local T-Mobile store and ask them to eliminate that feature. We used to get a random, wrong number call and even tho it was a little bit of a problem but that's just life, ya know?

I keep mine on because I prefer someone to leave me a message. And I can call to get the message via VP. It's not hard...

That is one way to do it. But I use my voicemail differently. Since I use Treo600 and my carrier is Sprint. This does not work like you are doing but I doing differently. I ask my partner to listen so I leave my own personal Voice for answering all incoming calls. When my partner said to start leaving my own voice in. I said

"Hey! I am profound Deaf. I will never ever listen all of your incoming messages. You will have to send me an E-Mail to Yourname@domain.com. At the end of this messages, all your messages will never ever be heard from me."

Then since then I received alot of email that came from the voicemail messages.

I prefer voice mail now after discover how to use them though the VRS. WOW! ALOT easier for me. So I just give out hearies my SK phone number and telling them its voice mail and just leave message. They know what Im talking about. Much easier than explain to them how to use the Relay service. Most of them said WTF? Why need two phone numbers? They don't get it, sigh so use voice mail for them to call me then when I see there is voice mail wait for me. I check the message oh there it is call back with Relay and show them how this works. They all said OHHHH is that how it worked? Oh I got it. Works EVERY time! So, better than call Tmobile to delete them, and miss important phone call.
This can be advantage for deafies who want to look for job. It looks confusing on resume with 2 phone numbers.

Yep, Thats one of the reasons why I want to
keep Voice Mail (I do NOT want to give out
both Relay phone number and my phone number
too confusing for hearing people !)
Just ONE phone number would be sufficient.

I applied for my own IP Relay number then left an outgoing voice mail on my sidekick saying that it was a data phone only. That I could not hear it so don't leave a message and if you want to contact me use the following relay number.
