New here on this site and wanted to read about expericence with hearing-deaf realtionships.
I found my soul mate but I'm a little nervous because he's deaf ad I can hear. But I truly don't have a problem with him at all. We communicate (amazingly and mind boggling) perfectly. He understands me all the time and I understand him as well. I can look at him and we know what we are saying to each other. We tryly are in-sync with each other and are very happy.
well just wanted some advice because I've never met or delt with a deaf person before and I wanted to make sure I know exactly what I'm dealing with. I don't even know sign language..but I'm willing to learn to make his life easier...

I have seen a couple of hearing/deaf relationships. Some work, some don't. Hopefully you will still have an open mind and have a long lasting and meaningful relationship. Commonly, I've heard that hearing partners actually pick up enough signs to realize that their Deaf partner actually doesn't measure up to their expectations.

Additionally, the inverse is true; Deaf partners may still prefer to have a partner skilled in sign language and their hearing partners may still get 'dumped' if they do not acquire any meaningful forms of ASL.

:wiggle: I myself am hearing, but, I am also a CODA. Child of deaf adults. Both my parent's are deaf. They taught me to sign when I was 4 years old.
Getting to your story, if you feel comfortable with your new boyfriend, and are willing to learn to sign for him, that is great. Communication is important, and if you both find a way to be able to communicate openly whether it be through sign, looking at each other, writing on paper then there's a very good chance your relationship will survive.
I met my husband at a deaf club, he was born deaf. Very ASL, but, we understood each other very well, but, I was also very english because that is what my parent's learned when they were in school many years ago. So, I went back to classes, and started picking up ASL which I found much easier to learn than english.
I met my husband September of 77, we married October of 78 and have been married 27 years.
So, always keep your mind open, and keep a positive attitude. Everything will work itself out.
Good luck with your new relationship!!!

I know a member here who is married in a "deaf/hearing" relationship.

The reason why most people are unsure about this kind of thing is because of what might happen or usually happens. A deaf person usually switches into "deaf mode" when around deaf people and that might leave the hearing person out. A hearing person usually switches into "hearing mode" when around hearing people and that might leave the deaf person out. However, if the hearing person signs very fluently and is very motivated with getting involved with deaf people or signing at all times when around hearing people... then the deaf person may feel more comfortable.
