Healthier Toilet Design

Look like the improved raised version of the toilets in Asia.

I like the ice/ice cube urinal design.. It's cool and save water.

Dunno...some people like to sit on the loo (especially on Sunday) and read the papers or magazines...I know my brother-in-law did...my sister said "he's on the shitter"...and had been for more than 30 minutes....

But health-wise, might be a good invention....

Nothing new, Asians have been doing this for thousands of years...look up their toilets in todays world... its basically a hole in the floor, squat n go...

Our toilets are ADA fixtures and they are great because they are higher. They are 1-2 inches higher than standard which may not sound like much but its a world of difference! Ours are 17 inches from the floor to the lip of the toilet(seat up)so go ahead and measure......

I cant go when my feet are dangling off the floor, it is easier to go on a lower toilet. The ADA toilets are made so they match wheelchair heights and for older people to get up, Imagine an old fart trying to get up from a squatting position..ewww what a mess that will be.

Just how tall are you, anyway?

That is a horrible idea. Elderly people would have a real hard using that as you have swat too long. I had a lot clients that had their toilet seats boost up so they did not have swat so low. And I would not want to be putting my hands on the sides of a toilet seat to boost myself up. GROSS!

As an able bodied 70 year old I find the higher ones that have come out in the US the last few years very uncomfortable. I am not exactly short at 5' 6 1/2" with more of my height in my legs than some people. In fact, when I put in a new toilet I got one that is the old standard height!

Im 5'8" long torso, but yeah the tall toilets are VERY uncomfortable and I hate them as well as round bowls...the enlongated bowls are perfect with plenty of room to hang.
In case youre wondering, Docs said I was born with 3 legs and only 2 feet.

:naughty:

and speaking of the bowls, that squatter looks awful tight to squeeze all that manhood into.:laugh2:

I don't like it.

1. Esthetics: It's always in the open position; I hate to see home toilets left open. Public toilets left open is good but not home toilets. Ugh!

2. Pets: Now it looks even more like a water dish for dogs.

3. Ease of use: There's no way people with weak or painful knees and hips can use that thing without a struggle or without using grab rails.

4. Not kid friendly: It's too wide for little bottoms; they'd end up sitting in them. They would need kids' versions or adaptations (which I suppose someone could design).

I love the taller toilets.

Our MIL has to use a booster seat on her regular toilet. It is really hard to keep clean, and makes her bathroom look like a hospital facility.

My knees are bad, so when the time comes to replace our master bath toilet I will definitely get the taller kind.

Our daughter (obviously younger than us) loves the taller toilets, too. She's had juvenile rheumatoid arthritis in her knees since she was about 11 years old. It's very painful, especially in the morning. She finds the taller toilets much easier on her legs. Also, when our son-in-law isn't wearing his prosthetic leg, it makes getting up easier.

I'm 5'3" and I can comfortably use the tall toilets.

I can't imagine "old farts" with bad knees, hips, and backs being comfortable with getting up off the pot of that squatter style.

Compare the above two quotes and you will realize why I hope they continue to offer both heights!

I do find I have to put up with the higher ones in more and more places with my church an example of where they have used the higher ones as they have redone restrooms.
