So...some of you bought HD-DVD player. some of you bought blu-ray player. It's gonna be one long battle for both formats. Anyway, I've bought mine recently and I seem to like it alot thou I watched one called "the fast and the furious" on hd-dvd and can see that the resloution is near perfect on my 19' LCD VGA monitor. The subtitles' perfectly clear to read as well. I've used the subtitles on standard DVDs and it is rather terrible since the subtitles look as it was enlarged and almost like late 1980s computer texting or something lol. King Kong and The Fast And The Furious are the only HD-DVDs I have now...will look for more as I can.
Right now as many of you know, I've heard from gamespot.com awhile back when HD-DVD player was released saying that using it thru VGA gives true 1080p while by using HD components on HDTV may only give 1080i instead but both images on either VGA or HDTV would look just fine. I'm thankful for my VGA thou I understand it lacks HDMI but I dont think it really matters for now since I can see and hear the movie just clearly enough as I expected.
Anyway, what are the good movies you think I should get on HD-DVD?
