Have you tried this sweetener yet? Its name is Truvia, and it's made from natural products.

Truvia™ - Nature's perfect sweetness™

I recently sampled a stevia plant from someone's garden. It was very sweet tasting. The gardener told me that stevia was used a long time ago by poor people as a substitute for sugar.

A couple days ago, my daughter gave me some sample packets of Truvia. It tasted good.

I clicked in here thinking it would be some new trivia game about truth!

Oh well. We have used stevia in the past so this does look like a product I would like to try.:)

Not that I will actually get thinner.:aw:

Yes I use them for tea and on cereal since sugar is bad for me. I want to grow stevia plants, so cool. thanks for link.

Interesting link... It sound natural to me...

I search for German and found the German word "Süßkraut".

I really don't know why Europe, singapore and Hong Kong banned stevia... They consider it as an "unsafe food additive"... It could be affect diabetic? :dunno2:

so it's the Forbidden Fruit....

To me, stevia is a natural... I would do the same as what you did... I'm total surprised after search for stevia...
Also there is another one, sweet one (natural) but I forgot the name. I need to check it at health food store and see what name of the brand. Both tastes little bit different. Stevia used alot in Japan. I am working on how to make jelly with Stevia. I tried one and it turned out bad.. Oh well. I am still experiment it with cook and bakery food.

Never heard of it. Sure, I will try it!

The only way I can make most things like that work is to use half regular sugar and half an equivalent amount of sweetener. Otherwise it just wont get thick and sticky. I suppose you could try using a thickener, corn starch or what have you, but I don't think it would come out too incredible in terms of taste and texture.
