Have you lost, forgotten, or found your tools??

Oop, my wrong spell. I bought it in 1995 from Mac Tools, the size of Maglite is about foot long like police's flashlight. I bought another new Streamlight flashlight from SnapOn tools last spring, it's a Stinger XT rechargeable that came with a Piggy Bank Charger and 2 batttery sticks, size about 7 inch long. Cost me $175 buck. Dang. Stinger XT is much better than my old Maglite flashlight cuz I frequently changed bulbs in a Maglite flashlight when I dropped or tossed it. My old 2 Maglite flashlights were retired.

I paid LED flashlight for $5 and work great for anywhere. LED is way low watts then bulb that's mean it make battery go longer. LED flashlight take few months to die without replace the battery or recharger the battery.

Bulb is outdate. :cool2:

Never happen to me. Thanks to Craftsman. It make my life go easy and easy to noticed if something happen. This is my toolbox look like that.

Also I won't let someone borrow from mine for out of build. If inside build and we work as team then no problem.
If you land a new mechanic job, you will lost your tools for sure. Many mechanics lost their tools. Tradition.

I have the same problem but it is books instead of tools. My sisters would raid my bookshelf when I was away at college. I would find my books on their bookshelf years later! I just started keeping track of who borrow my books on my 3X5 cards.

I second that!!

I have alot of LED flashlights! Even one of them is a little "submarine mine" flashlight that have magnet all around. I can place it any position.

I started using LED flashlight few years ago because I got sick and tired of incandescent blulb uses up battery (which last 4hrs at least) and replacing batteries are a pain plus it's not bright. I bought $30 Luxeon 3 watts flashlight and it's dang bright and powerful (it stings my eye  ). Plus the battery last longer!

Get the one that is Luxeon because it's whiter and brighter. Any cheap brand tend to shine bluish/white color.

I am looking forward for higher wattage Luxeon flashlight which may cost more but worth the use.

Soon 2014, we may no longer purchase incandescent bulbs, perhap specialty bulbs will be around anyway.. Same goes for flashlight.

If I pay expensive then I fear someone steal it from mine or lost. So $5-$10 don't bother me to much.

That's why I pick cheap tools. I don't want to spend $$ from Snap-on, Mac tools, etc. :)
LOL, I bet you will addict to the SnapOn or Mac or Matco tools for sure unless you work a full time mechanic job. My experince tells me.
Hey, I still buy cheap tools from Harbor Freight Tools for my project, bought LED flashlights for home use.

I can understand that cuz my daughter lost my $30 1 Watt Luxeon flashlight at girl's camp. Oh well  :sigh: . So I decide to buy another $30 flashlight which was Brinkmann 3 AA batteries 3 Watt Luxeon flashlight. I realized that I should have bought D Cell type flashlight first place. It's pretty powerful tho.

I've seen $50 to $100 LED Tactile flashlight which use similar LED used in my flashlight but only brighter and it use special battery which is 123A type Lithium battery. I don't want to have that cuz if you are at camping or any place, battery dies on you and you go to store and they don't carry them. You're sucked big. That's why.

Best bet is to get one with either AA or D type battery that can be found any stores. Triple AAA battery is okay but its lifespan tend to be shorter. My original $30 1 Watt flashlight had three 'AAA' type battery and it only last less than 20 hours whereas three 'AA' type battery with 3 Watt battery last a bit longer. 3 watt Luxeon LED tend to suck power on 'AA' type battery faster than 'D' cell. When LED Flashlight battery going to die, LED tend to dim to ghostly white and still can see where you are shining at few feet.

There are cheap 3 watt Luxeon flashlights at Home Depot or Lowes which is named under "Coast". It's less than $30 bucks. I'm sure that no one is interested in stealing that type of flashlight.

I want to try out 5 watt or 6 watt Luxeon LED flashlight. It's damn blinding brighter than 3 watts LED. I would get one with 'D' cell type flashlight.

Most LED flashlights are 5 LEDs up to 30 LEDS tend to be cheap. It shines bluish white. If you find one with Nichia LED, It tend to be more expensive and shines clean white light. Nichia LEDs are high quality which cost more.

:rofl2: smart move!!

I've heard same thing that my friend, Jake did the same. He told me of other guy who borrowed it and never returned it. He go over his place and asked him to return the tools. The guy told him that he already returned it. Jake said fine, he head back home and waited till the guy asked him to help him with car. Jake went back and he immediately check guy's toolbox and garage while guy was in the house getting some stuff.. Lo and Behold!! He found his tools laying around in toolbox and in garage. Jake grabbed all of his tools and put it in his truck then back to help him fix the car. The guy didn't know Jake grabbed the tools until he went looking for it and can't find it. Jake asked him what did you do with my tools? He said I had it somewhere. AAHH I knew it!! Well you lost it!! :squint: Hummh!!??

That was a smart-aleck of him. It was so funny :rofl2:
